Choose a microSDXC card from one of the two families DJI lists for the Osmo Action 6: Lexar Professional SILVER PLUS or Kingston CANVAS Go! Plus. DJI lists both as U3, A2 and V30 cards, supports capacities up to 1 TB, and does not name one capacity as best for every user. Choose the size that suits how much footage you want on hand between transfers.

- Lexar Professional SILVER PLUS
- Kingston CANVAS Go! Plus
The listed cards carry U3, A2 and V30 markings. These are DJI’s named recommendations; the sources do not specify a separate minimum write speed or guarantee compatibility for every unlisted card. If you want to follow DJI’s stated guidance, choose a listed model.

How much capacity should you choose?
DJI lists capacities from 64 GB through 1 TB for both recommended families, and states that the camera supports cards up to 1 TB. Pick based on how much footage you want to keep on the camera before transferring it, rather than assuming there is one ideal size.
#1 Best Overall
- [Speed] Read/Write up to 100/50 MB/s, V30 speed grade, Ultra HD (UHD) 4K video recording, UHD 4K gaming.
- [App] A2 grade provides faster App loading performance for Smartphone & Tablet.
- [Storage] Expand smartphone internal storage space. Run App on Micro SD card.
| DJI-listed capacity | Practical consideration |
|---|---|
| 64 GB | A smaller amount of removable storage; consider it if you transfer footage frequently. |
| 128 GB | More room between transfers than 64 GB, while keeping the card size below the higher listed options. |
| 256 GB | A middle option in the listed range for keeping more footage on hand. |
| 512 GB | More removable capacity for longer intervals between transfers. |
| 1 TB | The largest capacity DJI lists for the Osmo Action 6. |
These are capacity comparisons, not guaranteed recording-time estimates. DJI publishes a maximum video bitrate of 120 Mbps and lists MP4 (HEVC) video and exFAT support, but does not provide an official recording-time-by-capacity table. Actual recording time depends on the recording settings and footage, so do not use the card size alone as a promise of how many minutes it will hold. See DJI’s Osmo Action 6 specifications for the camera’s storage and video details.
Account for the camera’s built-in storage
The Osmo Action 6 has 64 GB of built-in storage, of which 50 GB is available for use, according to DJI. A microSD card adds removable storage; it is not the camera’s only storage. If you rely on built-in space as well as a card, remember that the usable built-in amount is less than its stated 64 GB capacity.

Plan how you will transfer footage
DJI lists three ways to export footage: the DJI Mimo app, a card reader, or a USB-C connection to a computer or smartphone. A card reader is optional for recording; it is one transfer route. Choose a reader only if it suits the device you plan to use for offloading.
- Use DJI Mimo if you prefer transferring through the app.
- Connect by USB-C to a compatible computer or smartphone if that fits your workflow.
- Use a card reader if you want to remove the microSD card and read it directly on another device.

Does a faster card improve image quality?
The DJI specifications cited here do not say that using a faster card improves image quality. The practical reason to follow the listed card recommendation is compatibility guidance, not a promise of sharper or better-looking footage.
