Then decide whether you need an individual dust cover, a multi-figure shelf or cabinet, or a themed scene: those options serve different purposes, and a display platform is not necessarily an enclosing protective case.
Start with what you are displaying
Loose figures and figures in original packaging need different kinds of cases. For loose figures, measure the tallest pose you plan to use, including raised weapons or other accessories, and check the figure’s footprint with its stand. For a carded or boxed figure, measure the entire package, including the bubble or box depth. A case sized for a loose figure will not automatically fit its original packaging.

Also measure the shelf or cabinet location where the display will sit. Compare its available height, width, and depth with the case’s exterior dimensions, while using the case’s interior dimensions to check figure fit. Leave room for poses, accessories, stands, and the spacing you want between figures.

Choose a display style for your collection
One figure under an individual cover
An individual case is a straightforward option when you want to isolate and cover a loose figure. NECA’s Action Figure Cylindrical Display Case product information, released in February 2020, describes its 8-inch model as displaying and protecting 6-inch-scale figures. Its stated maximum figure height is 7.75 inches, and its base is 3.75 inches in diameter. NECA also lists a smaller model for 3¾-inch-scale figures, with a 4.75-inch maximum figure height and 2.25-inch base diameter. These are product specifications, not a guarantee that every pose or accessory will fit; check current availability and measure your figure before ordering.

Several figures on shelves or risers
For an army-builder display, shelves or stair-style risers can help arrange figures so those behind are visible. Collector discussions mention glass cabinets and risers, but these are individual examples rather than evidence that one cabinet or riser is best. Compare the usable shelf area with the number and footprint of your figures, and decide whether you need an enclosing cover to limit dust or simply an open display.
A themed multi-level scene
NECA describes its TMNT Cartoon Street Scene Diorama as a three-level display for 6–9-inch figures, with stated capacity for more than 30 figures. The listing showed it sold out when checked; confirm current stock before planning around it. It is a themed group display, not a product page description of an enclosing dust case, so collectors seeking an enclosure should account for that separately.

For carded figures, match the exact release and package
Do not assume that a case fits because it is labeled for TMNT. Figure lines, manufacturers, release eras, and package shapes vary. For a carded figure, compare the maker and release with the case maker’s stated compatibility, then check card height and width and the bubble’s depth. A visually similar package can still be a different size.

Its page describes the case material as 600-micron (0.6 mm) UV-resistant, scratch-resistant, acid-free PET. Those are seller specifications, not independent performance test results or a universal fit guarantee.

Display Armour describes a 4 mm UV-resistant acrylic case for loose Playmates TMNT figures and comparable Movie Stars variants, with a sliding rear panel. That is a different use and format from a case for a carded package. Verify fit for the exact figure or release before buying.

- Fit: Check usable interior height, width, and depth against the figure in its intended pose or the complete package.
- Capacity: For group displays, compare the shelf or scene’s usable area with the figures’ footprints and the spacing you want. A stated capacity may not reflect your preferred arrangement.
- Access: Consider how you will place, pose, or remove figures. For example, Display Armour describes its case as having a sliding rear panel; confirm that access method suits your setup.
- Materials: Treat UV resistance, scratch resistance, and acid-free claims as specific to the product that makes them. The cited listings do not establish a head-to-head material comparison or quantified UV performance.
- Availability and compatibility: Check the current listing, stock, and exact release match rather than relying on scale or a broad TMNT label alone.
The cited listings provide some dimensions and product-specific claims, but they do not provide a reliable cross-brand comparison of price, durability, glass versus acrylic, or measured UV performance. Choose based on the fit and features a seller actually specifies, not an unsupported ranking.
