Measure the completed diorama, then compare its widest, tallest and deepest points with the case’s usable interior dimensions. Include the base, stand and any overhanging or fragile details, and allow enough room to place and remove the model. The right case is the one that fits both the build and its display location—not simply the one whose outside dimensions look large enough.
Measure the finished diorama first
Do not size a case from the LEGO set box or the model’s nominal footprint. Measure the assembled display in its final configuration: include the base or stand that will remain inside, plus protruding pieces, vegetation, rooflines, antennas and other details that define its maximum dimensions.

A modular enclosure can be a useful option for a wider or larger display, particularly when stacking or a larger case configuration suits the available space. Custom case
A made-to-measure case is worth considering when a diorama has an unusual footprint, substantial height or fragile protrusions that make standard dimensions impractical. Compare the details beyond the size
