Choose a service based on what you are streaming: a live camera or encoder feed needs reliable ingest and reconnect handling; a channel made from existing videos needs cloud playout, scheduling, and recovery. For prerecorded YouTube programming, StreamNeo is the first option to consider: it runs uploaded videos continuously from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day.
Start with the workflow: live input or prerecorded video
A cloud relay and a cloud playout service solve different problems. A relay forwards an ongoing live production from an encoder. Cloud playout takes uploaded media and schedules or loops it as a continuous YouTube live stream.

- Live camera or encoder feed: prioritize ingest stability, reconnect behavior, monitoring, and a tested source-side backup. A cloud relay cannot recreate a camera feed if the encoder or source connection fails.
- Uploaded video library: prioritize playlist scheduling, uninterrupted cloud playout, media limits, transitions, and recovery. Confirm that the service explicitly supports continuous prerecorded programming rather than assuming that a studio’s prerecorded-streaming feature is unattended playout.
Check YouTube eligibility and archive needs first
YouTube says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days to get started with live streaming. Content must also comply with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Check the channel’s eligibility before paying for a service, and do not use another channel to evade a restriction. Restream’s help article says YouTube has no duration limit, but archives only streams shorter than 12 hours. Treat that as the guidance on the reviewed page, and check current YouTube settings and policies before relying on an archive. A continuous broadcaster should make a separate recording and archive plan rather than assume one uninterrupted live event will be saved in full. Restream’s YouTube duration guidance

Compare services by fit, not by a reliability ranking
The services below document different workflows. Vendor feature pages and uptime statements are not independent proof of reliability; verify plan limits, recovery behavior, and support terms for your own setup.
| Service | What the reviewed sources establish | What to confirm before subscribing |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Cloud service for looping uploaded videos and playlists on YouTube, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. One flat price per slot for any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps; the first day is free with no card. | Review the current plan and storage needs for your active slots. It streams uploaded videos to YouTube, not live camera input. |
| Castr | Official material describes 24/7 cloud playout. Its help article says continuous duration is supported while the subscription is active and bandwidth is sufficient. Its pricing page lists plan-dependent stream, destination, bandwidth, storage, and feature limits. | Check current plan limits, what counts toward bandwidth, upload restrictions, recovery and failover behavior, SLA scope and exclusions, and total cost. Castr advertises a 99.9% uptime SLA; that is the vendor’s claim, not an independently verified comparative result. |
| Gyre | YouTube’s encoder guidance names Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 live streaming of prerecorded videos. This is a mention in YouTube’s platform guidance, not an independent endorsement or comparison. | Confirm current features, plan caps, archive behavior, support, recovery commitments, and terms; the cited YouTube page does not establish these details. |
| Restream | Vendor help covers YouTube connection and duration guidance; its plan explainer describes channel counts and features such as prerecorded streaming and recording. | Restream warns that its servers may undergo maintenance and restart during streams lasting more than 24 hours, and recommends restarting every 24 hours. Check the current plan matrix and whether this operating model suits unattended use. |
| StreamYard | Vendor help lists YouTube as a supported destination; its pricing page lists studio, multistream, and prerecorded-streaming features with tier limits. | Confirm that the plan’s prerecorded-stream allowance and studio workflow meet your schedule. The reviewed materials do not establish it as an always-on cloud playout service. |

Use this checklist before choosing a plan
- Define the source. For live input, check ingest, reconnect handling, monitoring, and backup at the encoder. For uploaded media, check playlist scheduling, cloud playout, file preparation, and how transitions work.
- Confirm YouTube eligibility and policy compliance. Verify the channel and check for restrictions before purchase. Make sure you have rights to the music, footage, and other material in your programming, and follow YouTube’s rules.
- Separate runtime from archiving. Decide whether you need a YouTube archive, local recording, or separate recordings. Do not assume a continuous broadcast will produce a complete archive.
- Model the workload against the specific tier. Account for bitrate, hours streamed, concurrent streams, destinations, storage, and any viewer or player bandwidth charges. Plan pages may allocate these differently by tier.
- Get failure behavior in writing. Ask what happens after a source disconnect, cloud maintenance, exhausted bandwidth, payment failure, or scheduled restart. Check SLA scope and exclusions and support response expectations.
- Test before going unattended. Run a private or unlisted stream and deliberately test the relevant failure and recovery path before relying on it for a continuous channel.
- Calculate total recurring cost. Include storage or recording, overages, extra channels, support, and billing term—not just a headline monthly figure.
