What Safari offers on iPhone
Safari is a natural starting point if you use multiple Apple devices and want browsing information to carry across them. With the same Apple Account, Safari can keep tabs, bookmarks, history and Reading List up to date across devices.

Firefox for iOS is worth considering if you already use Firefox elsewhere. Mozilla says its iOS app includes built-in tracking protection and can sync tabs, bookmarks and passwords across devices. That makes it a practical option for keeping selected browsing data within the Firefox ecosystem.

Firefox Focus is a separate choice
Firefox Focus is not simply another name for the full Firefox browser. Mozilla describes it as both a standalone browser and a content blocker for Safari, with tracking protection and content blocking. Choose it when a dedicated privacy-oriented browsing experience is more appealing than using one full-featured browser for everything.
What about Chrome, Brave, Edge and Orion?

How do you change the iPhone’s default browser?
Apple’s documented route is available for supported browser apps. Labels or additional setup steps can vary, so follow any prompts shown on your device.
- Open Settings.
- Tap Apps.
- Tap Default Apps.
- Tap Browser App.
- Select the supported browser you want to use. Complete any additional onscreen step if one appears.
Apple says a browser choice screen may appear in the European Union and Japan; it is not presented uniformly worldwide. If you do not see that screen, check Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Browser App on your iPhone. The available choices depend on app support and what your device presents.

Changing your browser is not the same as changing search engines
If you want a different provider for web searches, you do not necessarily need to switch browsers. Apple provides a separate default search-engine setting. Look for the search engine control in your browser settings; the exact route may depend on which browser you use.
