If it has shipped, use the carrier and tracking number in the shipment confirmation email to see its latest progress and estimated delivery date. Valve does not publish one delivery timeframe that applies to every order, so the carrier’s estimate is the relevant one for your shipment.
The key is to separate an order that is visible in your Steam account from a parcel that has actually been dispatched. Steam Support helps you find the purchase and get help with it; after dispatch, the carrier’s tracking page provides the shipment-specific progress and any current delivery estimate.

Find your order in Steam Support
- Open Steam Support and sign in to the Steam account that placed the hardware order. Steam Support uses your signed-in account to show purchases and provide personalized help.
- Review your purchases and select the hardware order you want to check. If you need help with the order, open its available support options. For Steam Deck-specific assistance, Valve also provides a Steam Deck support path that includes payment or shipping assistance.
- Check whether the order has shipped. Seeing a purchase in Steam confirms that it is listed in your account; it does not, by itself, establish that the shipment has been dispatched.
If the order is missing, first make sure you signed in to the account used for the purchase. If you still cannot locate it or need help with a payment or delivery issue, contact Steam Support through the purchase’s help options.

Start with the account rather than a tracking search. Steam Support is the place to review the purchase and access personalized help, while a carrier can only provide shipment information once you have the tracking details for a dispatched parcel. If you are signed in to a different Steam account, the purchase may not appear in the account you are reviewing. Confirm the purchasing account before concluding that the order is missing.

When you open the purchase, use the order-specific help choices if something needs attention. The Steam Deck support route includes payment or shipping assistance, which makes it relevant when the question is not simply “Where is the parcel?” but also whether a payment or delivery issue needs support. A general support page does not replace signing in to review the correct purchase.
Track a shipped Steam hardware order
After dispatch, look for the shipment confirmation email associated with the order. Valve says the email includes the carrier and tracking information. Use the tracking number with the carrier named in that message, rather than choosing a carrier from a general list: the email identifies the carrier for your specific shipment.
- Search the email inbox associated with your order for the shipment confirmation. Check other folders, such as spam or junk, if you do not see it in the inbox.
- Read the message for the carrier name and tracking number.
- Open that carrier’s tracking page and enter the tracking number. Check the latest scan and any delivery estimate shown for the shipment.
- Recheck the carrier’s tracking page for updates if the estimate changes or the parcel has not arrived. The tracking page is the source for the shipment-specific status and estimate.
The order confirmation and shipment confirmation serve different purposes in this process. A purchase appearing in Steam Support tells you that you are looking at an order in your account; it does not prove that the parcel has been sent. The shipment confirmation is the step that supplies the carrier and tracking information. If you have not found that information, do not assume that a regional carrier example is your tracking destination or treat the order as shipped based only on its presence in your purchase history.
Once you have the tracking number, use the named carrier’s tracking page to check the latest record. Look for the current scan and any delivery estimate displayed for that shipment. If the estimate changes, check the same tracking record again for the latest information instead of relying on an older date. The carrier estimate is specific to the shipment; it is not a general promise from Valve that every hardware order arrives within a fixed number of days.
Valve’s Hardware Shipping FAQ lists regional carrier examples, but they are not a guarantee of which company will deliver a particular order. A different last-leg courier may handle some EU and UK deliveries. Use the carrier shown in your confirmation email, which is more specific than the regional examples.
| Region in Valve’s FAQ | Carrier examples | What to use for your order |
|---|---|---|
| United States and Canada | FedEx or UPS | The carrier and tracking number in the shipment confirmation email. |
| EU and UK | DHL or GLS; some deliveries may use a last-leg courier | The carrier and tracking number in the shipment confirmation email. |
| Australia | StarTrack | The carrier and tracking number in the shipment confirmation email. |
These are examples for the regions named in Valve’s English-language FAQ, not a complete address-by-address directory. The actual carrier can vary, and for some EU and UK deliveries a last-leg courier may be involved. That is why the carrier information in the confirmation email takes priority over guessing from your location. The named carrier and tracking number are the practical details you need to move from a general question about delivery to the record for your own parcel.

When will your Steam Deck or other Valve hardware arrive?
There is no universal number of days to apply to every Valve hardware order. The public shipping FAQ does not give a generally applicable delivery window. Transit time and the current estimate depend on the individual shipment, so use the date, if any, shown by its carrier rather than counting from the order date or relying on a regional example.

A carrier estimate is tied to the tracking record and can change as the parcel moves through the network. If tracking shows no movement, a delay, or an exception, follow the carrier’s latest instructions and contact Steam Support if you have a delivery problem. Valve does not state a guaranteed arrival date or a standard response time for these issues.
For the question “When will my Steam Deck arrive?”, the most accurate answer depends on the order stage. Before dispatch, the carrier tracking record may not yet be available; a purchase listed in Steam Support alone does not establish an arrival date. After dispatch, use the tracking number in the shipment confirmation email and consult the estimate displayed by that carrier. If no date is shown, Valve’s FAQ does not supply a universal alternative number of days to substitute.
It is also useful to distinguish an estimate from a guarantee. The carrier page gives the current shipment-specific information available for that tracking record, and the estimate may change. Neither regional carrier examples nor the date you placed the order is a substitute for the carrier’s current estimate. Avoid treating an old estimate as definitive if a later scan or updated date is available.
Valve says shipping is free for Valve hardware, but that statement concerns the shipping charge, not the time it takes to arrive. Local taxes and customs or import fees may apply depending on location. Those possible charges do not establish a delivery date, and the FAQ does not state one fee amount or one transit window for all destinations.
What to do if tracking or delivery goes wrong
- No confirmation email: Check the email account associated with the purchase, including spam or junk folders. If you cannot find the shipment details or need help with delivery, contact Steam Support.
- No tracking update or a delivery problem: Use the tracking page for the carrier named in the email to check the latest shipment information. Contact Steam Support about a payment or delivery issue.
- Shipment appears lost or stolen: Contact Steam Support. Valve directs customers to Support for lost or stolen hardware orders in transit; it does not promise a particular resolution or response time.
- Order or payment details need attention: Open the order’s support options in Steam Support. The Steam Deck support path includes payment or shipping assistance.
If you cannot find the shipment email, check that you are looking at the email account associated with the purchase, then check spam or junk. If the message still is not available, Steam Support is the relevant place to ask about a delivery issue. A regional carrier list cannot identify your particular tracking number, and searching one of the example carriers without the order-specific details may not resolve the question.

If you do have a tracking number, use the named carrier’s page to see the latest shipment information. When tracking shows no movement or an exception, the available guidance is to check that carrier information and contact Steam Support if there is a delivery problem. Do not assume that a quiet tracking record proves the parcel is lost, but do not treat a concerning delivery issue as solved by a generic estimate either. For a shipment that appears lost or stolen in transit, Valve directs customers to Steam Support.
Steam Support is also the escalation point for a payment or delivery problem. Use the purchase’s help options or, for Steam Deck assistance, the Steam Deck support path. Valve does not state a standard response time or promise a particular resolution for these cases, so an article should not suggest that a reply or replacement will arrive within a set period. Keep the order-specific confirmation and tracking information available when asking for help, so you can identify the purchase and the shipment in question.
Can you change or cancel a Valve hardware order?
Valve says a hardware shipment can be modified or cancelled within 24 hours of placing the order. Find the purchase on the Help Site and follow the on-screen instructions. After that 24-hour window, Valve says the order is allocated for shipment and cannot be changed, cancelled, or recalled. If the hardware has already shipped and you want a refund, Valve says to submit a request through the Help Site after delivery.

If you want to change or cancel an order, locate that purchase on the Help Site and follow the instructions there while the window remains open. The policy Valve describes is specific: after 24 hours, the order is allocated for shipment and cannot be changed, cancelled, or recalled. Do not assume that contacting a carrier can undo an order after this point.
For a refund after shipment, Valve says to submit the request through the Help Site after delivery. This is different from trying to modify or cancel the order within the initial 24 hours. If you are unsure which option applies, open the purchase’s support choices and follow the on-screen instructions rather than relying on the carrier tracking page to manage a Steam Store order.
Shipping charges and possible local fees
Valve says shipping is free for Valve hardware. Depending on where you live, local taxes and customs or import fees may still apply. The FAQ does not give one fee amount for all destinations; any applicable charge depends on location.

- 512 GB NVMe SSD: Fast storage for quicker game load times and space for larger game libraries.
- OLED Display: 1200x800 resolution with deep contrasts and vibrant colors for a captivating visual experience.
- Custom AMD APU: Power-efficient Zen 2 CPU and RDNA 2 GPU for desktop-level gaming performance.
- Expandable Storage: Add more space with a microSD card slot, ensuring you can bring even more games with you.
- Versatile Controls: With built-in thumbsticks, trackpads, and touchscreen controls, you have full control over your gaming experience.
Free shipping should not be read as a promise that there can never be a local charge. The FAQ distinguishes Valve’s shipping charge from taxes and customs or import fees that may apply depending on the buyer’s location. Because the applicable taxes or import fees vary by location, there is no single amount to quote for every order. For the same reason, a regional carrier example does not tell you what fees apply to an individual address.
These costs are separate from the delivery estimate. To check timing, use the carrier tracking information for a shipment that has been dispatched. To raise a payment issue, use Steam Support and the order’s help options. A carrier’s tracking page is useful for parcel progress and its estimate, but the Steam purchase support route is the relevant path for a payment or order question.

This guidance reflects Valve’s English-language Hardware Shipping FAQ as available on October 11, 2026. Its carrier examples cover the United States and Canada, the EU and UK, and Australia; arrangements and supported destinations may change. For an order already dispatched, the confirmation email and its linked carrier tracking are the order-specific references.
The practical distinction remains the same across the named regions: sign in to the Steam account that placed the purchase to review it, then use the carrier and tracking information in the shipment confirmation email once it has been dispatched. Valve’s FAQ does not list one carrier for every address, guarantee a delivery date, or give a universal transit window. If a payment or delivery issue needs attention, use Steam Support.
