Check your EPF passbook by signing in to EPFO’s official Member Passbook portal with your UAN and password. For a claim-status lookup, EPFO’s help instructions ask for the EPFO office where your account is maintained and your PF account number. You can also use EPFO services in the official UMANG app for passbook viewing and claim tracking.
Check your EPF passbook through EPFO
- Open the official EPF Passbook & Claim Status page.
- Sign in with your UAN and password, then complete the captcha displayed on the page.
- Open the passbook to view the account information available to you.
Use the official EPFO domain and do not share your login details with anyone offering to check the account for you.

Check an EPFO claim using the status lookup
- Go to EPFO’s official help page and follow its claim-status instructions, or use the “Know Your Claim Status” option listed in EPFO’s employee-services directory.
- Select the EPFO office where your account is maintained.
- Enter your PF account number. If your account has no extension, leave the extension field blank.
A passbook shows account information; it does not, by itself, confirm the progress of a pending claim. Use the claim-status lookup or claim-tracking service to check a claim.
Use UMANG for passbook viewing or claim tracking
EPFO lists View Passbook and Claim tracking among the services available through UMANG. Its UMANG information booklet describes these functions. Use the official UMANG app, and follow the sign-in prompts shown there. EPFO also says existing UANs can be activated or generated through UMANG via its member portal.

If your passbook is unavailable
EPFO says members of an exempted establishment may not see a passbook in the UAN portal. Contact your establishment for a PF statement instead.
Protect your EPFO account
EPFO warns members: “Please never respond to any call for sharing any personal details like Aadhaar, PAN, Bank details, OTP or request for any payment.” Do not give your UAN, password, Aadhaar, PAN, bank details, or OTP to unsolicited callers or anyone claiming they can release your funds. EPFO says it does not ask members to deposit money.

What to expect from a status result
EPFO’s cited instructions establish how to access the lookup, but do not set out a general current processing deadline or define every status label that may appear. Do not assume a particular settlement date from a status result; consult current EPFO guidance if you need an interpretation. Portal interfaces and service notices can change.
