A release year or broad series name is not enough to confirm access: support depends on the exact model and country, and Gaming Hub availability does not guarantee that the Xbox app is offered for every TV.
Check the TV itself first
- Find the full model code. Look in the TV’s Settings or About screen, or on the product label. Use the complete code, not just a family name such as QLED or The Frame; regional and configuration variants can differ.
- Open Gaming Hub. From the TV Home screen, open Gaming Hub, usually found in the Smart Hub sidebar. If it is available, look inside for the Xbox app.
- Check the TV’s app store as well. Search for Xbox in the Samsung TV app store. Samsung says the app is available only on selected TVs and in selected regions, so a Gaming Hub listing alone does not confirm Xbox availability.
- Check local support information. If Xbox is not listed, check Samsung’s support or app information for your exact model and country, and check whether a TV software update is available. An update may matter for some models, but it is not established that updating will make a missing Xbox listing appear.
Samsung describes Gaming Hub as available on 2022-and-newer Samsung Smart TVs on its US page. Its Canada page is more specific: it lists selected models released since 2022 and selected 2021 models supported through a software update. Since the two regional pages do not make identical claims, use your local listing and the TV’s exact model rather than treating the year as a definitive compatibility test. What Samsung’s model list does—and does not—confirm
Samsung Canada lists selected 2022–2026 series for Gaming Hub: Micro RGB R95; OLED S95, S90 and S85; Neo QLED 8K/4K QN900, QN800, QN90, QN85, QN80 and QN70; Mini LED M90, M80 and M70; QLED Q90, Q70 and Q60; Crystal UHD U, DU, CU and BU8000; and The Frame, The Serif and The Terrace. It also lists selected 2021 models—QN900A, QN800A, QN90A, Q80A, AU8000 and The Frame LS03A—via software update. These are Gaming Hub support details from Samsung Canada, not a guarantee that the Xbox app is available on every listed model or in every country. Check the Canadian list against your full model code.
Samsung’s US page summarizes Gaming Hub availability as all 2022-and-newer Samsung Smart TVs. That regional summary does not override the need to verify Xbox in your own TV’s app listing: Samsung says Xbox is limited to selected TVs and regions. The Samsung US Xbox app listing also notes that availability and the game catalog vary by region and device.

If your TV has the Xbox app, what you need to play
The app lets you stream supported Xbox games to a compatible TV, so a console is not required for Xbox Cloud Gaming on a supported setup. Access still depends on the service, region and game. Before subscribing, check whether the plan and the specific title you want are currently available where you live.
- Subscription: Samsung’s Canada Gaming Hub page lists Xbox Game Pass for Xbox Cloud Gaming. The service and catalog can change, so verify current plan and title availability rather than assuming a subscription includes every game.
- Account: Samsung’s US app listing identifies a Microsoft account with an Xbox profile as a requirement.
- Controller: Use a supported Bluetooth controller. Samsung gives the Xbox Wireless Controller as an example; controllers are sold separately, and compatibility can depend on the specific model.
- Internet: Samsung recommends at least 20 Mbps for Xbox Cloud Gaming on Samsung TVs. Internet provider fees may apply, and server availability and wait times can vary.
Samsung describes Gaming Hub itself as free to use, but cloud gaming is a partner service and may require a subscription. For the current app requirements and availability caveats, see the Samsung Xbox app listing and Samsung Canada Gaming Hub page.

Why the Xbox app might be missing
- The exact TV model is not supported. A family name or release year can cover multiple configurations; check the full code.
- Your country’s app availability differs. Samsung warns that availability varies by region. A TV or app supported in one country may not be listed in another.
- Gaming Hub and Xbox availability are not the same thing. A TV may meet Samsung’s Gaming Hub guidance without Xbox being available for that model or region.
- The TV may need an available software update. Samsung’s Canada page identifies selected 2021 models as Gaming Hub-compatible via update. That does not establish that an update fixes every missing Xbox app listing.
