As of October 3, 2026, you cannot yet check whether your PC can run Grand Theft Auto VI: Rockstar has not published a PC version or PC system requirements on the official pages reviewed. Those pages list PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with the game coming November 19, 2026. You can prepare by recording your PC’s specifications now, then compare them with Rockstar’s PC requirements if they are announced.
Can my PC run GTA 6 right now?
There is no official basis for a yes-or-no PC compatibility verdict yet. Rockstar’s platform and editions information lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as the available pre-order platforms, and the official GTA VI game page lists those platforms and a November 19, 2026 coming date. The reviewed official pages do not publish a PC release, minimum or recommended PC specifications, a PC benchmark, or a compatibility checker.

Do not treat GTA V requirements, console hardware, online estimates, or rumors as proof that a PC will run GTA VI. Rockstar’s GTA V PC system requirements are for GTA V, not GTA VI; that game’s page includes separate Enhanced and Legacy specifications, but none establishes GTA VI compatibility.
How to record your PC’s specifications with dxdiag
Windows’ DirectX Diagnostic Tool (dxdiag) can show key system and graphics information. Rockstar recommends it for identifying a PC’s hardware; using it now inventories your computer, but it does not test the PC against unpublished GTA VI requirements. The steps below follow Rockstar Support’s general guidance, last updated April 28, 2024.
#1 Best Overall
- System: AMD Ryzen 5 5500 3.6GHz 6 Cores | AMD B550 Chipset | 8GB DDR4 | 500GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD | Windows 11 Home
- Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT 4GB Graphics | 1x HDMI | 1x DisplayPort
- Connectivity: 4 x USB-A 3.2 | 4 x USB-A 2.0 | 1 x LAN | WiFi 5 | Bluetooth 5.0 | 7.1 Channel Audio
- Tempered Side Case Panel | Custom RGB Lighting | Keyboard and Mouse
- 1 Year Parts & Labor Warranty, Free Lifetime Tech Support
- Open the tool: Click Start, choose Run, enter
dxdiag, then press Enter or select OK. If Windows asks whether to check WHQL digital signatures, choose Yes. - Record the System tab: Note the operating system, processor and memory exactly as shown. Capture the model and amounts rather than relying on the name used to market the PC.
- Record the Display tab: Under Device, note the graphics-card name, manufacturer, chip type and approximate total video memory. Under Driver, note the driver version and date. Onboard graphics may use shared system memory, as Rockstar’s guidance notes.
- Keep storage details too: Record the available drive capacity and whether the game would be installed on an SSD or another drive. The dxdiag inventory steps identify much of the hardware, but check the official game specification for any exact storage requirement or drive technology.
How to compare your PC with official GTA VI requirements
If Rockstar publishes PC requirements, compare the listed values with your recorded specifications category by category. Use the requirement page for the PC release rather than extrapolating from GTA V or another platform.
- Operating system: Compare the required Windows version and edition, if specified.
- Processor: Match your CPU model against the stated minimum, then recommended CPU if one is provided.
- System memory: Compare installed RAM with the stated amount.
- Graphics and video memory: Compare the specific graphics-card model and VRAM, not just a broad label such as “gaming graphics.”
- Storage: Check required free capacity and any specified drive type.
- Performance target: If Rockstar ties recommended hardware to a resolution, frame rate, or graphics preset, compare against that target separately.
Minimum specifications and recommended specifications answer different questions. Meeting the stated minimum indicates that the PC meets Rockstar’s listed baseline; it does not guarantee a particular frame rate or experience unless Rockstar associates the specification with a performance target. Check for current driver, software, and storage requirements on the official spec page before buying or upgrading anything.

What not to use as a GTA VI compatibility test
- GTA V requirements: Rockstar publishes specifications for GTA V, including separate Enhanced and Legacy requirements. They describe GTA V only.
- Console specifications: The currently listed PS5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms do not provide a PC hardware comparison.
- Unofficial estimates or paid scanners: No official GTA VI PC requirements or checker is established on the reviewed Rockstar pages. A general hardware scan can report what is in your PC, but cannot verify it against a specification that has not been published. The documented dxdiag inventory method is included with Windows.
Recheck Rockstar’s official platform information and game page for changes: release dates and platform availability can change, and the status here reflects pages reviewed on October 3, 2026.
