To answer “Can my PC run [game]?”, find that game’s system requirements in its EA app Game Hub and compare them with your Windows PC’s specifications. EA recommends using DxDiag to identify your processor, memory, graphics card, driver and DirectX version. Meeting minimum requirements indicates baseline playability—not a guarantee of smooth performance at high settings.
1. Find the requirements for the exact EA game
Each EA game has its own requirements. In the EA app, open the Store, select the game you want to play to open its Game Hub, then scroll to the bottom of the page for its system requirements. Do not substitute the requirements for the EA app itself: those describe the app, not the game. EA explains where to find a game’s requirements in the app.

Look for both minimum and recommended requirements if EA publishes both. Minimum describes the baseline target; recommended is a higher target set by the game’s publisher. Neither tier, by itself, promises a particular frame rate, resolution or graphics preset.
2. Get your PC’s specifications with DxDiag
- In Windows, search for
dxdiagand open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. If Windows offers a 64-bit version, EA advises running that option. - Wait for DxDiag to finish collecting information. Select Save All Information to save a report you can refer to while comparing specifications.
- Check the report for your processor, memory (RAM), graphics card, graphics driver version and date, and DirectX version. It can also show page-file information and limited error messages. The Display tab contains graphics-adapter details.
EA’s official DxDiag guidance puts the comparison simply: “Compare your system specs in the DxDiag with the game’s minimum requirements to make sure your setup can run the game.” See EA’s DxDiag instructions.

3. Compare each requirement, not just the headline
Match the game’s listed requirements against your PC one item at a time. Model names matter: knowing only that your graphics card is from AMD or NVIDIA is not enough to establish whether it meets a specific GPU requirement.
- Operating system: Check the Windows version and whether 64-bit Windows is required.
- Processor: Compare the listed CPU model with the processor shown in DxDiag.
- Memory: Compare the game’s RAM requirement with the system memory reported by DxDiag.
- Graphics card: Compare the exact GPU model and, when specified, its video memory. Check the Display tab in DxDiag.
- DirectX: Match any stated DirectX version or feature level; a version number alone may not establish that a required feature level is supported.
- Storage and internet: Check that you have the required free disk space and connection type or availability stated on the game page.
Use the game’s own listing for every comparison. Requirements for one EA title do not carry over to another.

4. Check the graphics adapter and driver
EA recommends keeping the graphics driver current and using the GPU manufacturer’s official driver source. If DxDiag does not show the expected graphics card, investigate before concluding that the PC lacks one: EA notes that a hardware issue or a laptop failing to switch to its dedicated adapter can cause graphics detection problems. On a laptop with integrated and dedicated graphics, verify which adapter the game is using; some systems may not switch automatically. EA’s PC graphics troubleshooting guidance covers adapter detection and drivers.

5. Interpret the comparison realistically
If the PC meets a game’s minimum requirements, that is an indication it can play the game, not that it will perform well at the highest settings. EA states: “If your computer meets the minimum requirements, it means that you can play the game on your computer, not that it will run well at the highest settings.” A system close to minimum may benefit from closing background apps, but that does not make an unmet hardware requirement disappear. Read EA’s guidance on graphics performance and minimum requirements.
A current match also does not guarantee that later updates or expansions will continue to work: requirements and compatibility can change. Check the game’s current requirements when deciding whether to install or buy it.

Quick Recap
If one component falls short
- Confirm that you selected the right game page and are comparing exact model names, not just component brands.
- If the graphics adapter is missing or unexpected, check the laptop’s active GPU selection and investigate whether the dedicated adapter is detected.
- Update the graphics driver from the GPU manufacturer’s official source, then check the game requirements again.
- If the PC still does not meet a listed requirement, the available information is not enough to recommend a particular upgrade. Compatibility depends on the target game, the rest of the PC, upgrade support and budget.
