How to Check Whether You Qualified for Sony Store Japan’s PS5 Pro Lottery

Sony’s PS5 Pro application in Japan is closed. Here are the eligibility rules and what applicants need to know about results and purchase deadlines.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Sony’s Sony Store Japan PS5 Pro purchase application closed on October 7, 2026, at 23:59 Japan time. To qualify, applicants had to meet every condition in Sony’s notice: use a Japan-registered Sony account for PlayStation online services, have at least 60 logged PS4 and/or PS5 gameplay hours in Sony’s fixed eligibility period, unify that account’s sign-in ID with a My Sony ID, and reside in Japan. Meeting those rules did not guarantee selection; Sony said it would draw lots if eligible applications exceeded planned stock.

Status checked October 7, 2026. Sony’s live notice is the authority for any schedule changes.

Check each eligibility requirement against the account you used

Sony’s notice says applicants must meet all listed conditions. Check the particular Sony account intended for the application; owning a PlayStation console or having played games on another account does not establish that this account qualifies.

  • Account country: The Sony account must be registered in Japan and have been used for PlayStation online services.
  • Gameplay total and dates: The account needed at least 60 total hours of PS5 and/or PS4 gameplay while signed in, from September 27, 2024, through September 27, 2026, at 23:59 Japan time. The qualifying period is closed; play after the cutoff does not count toward this total.
  • My Sony ID: The applying account’s sign-in ID had to be unified with a My Sony ID. Sony says My Sony IDs first registered on or after January 19, 2022, are already unified. If yours is older, or you do not have a My Sony ID, use Sony’s sign-in ID unification instructions. Sony says you can try signing in on that page to check whether unification is complete.
  • Residence and terms: Applicants had to reside in Japan and agree to the notice’s terms. Delivery was limited to addresses in Japan.

Sony’s public notice cannot confirm your account’s registered country, qualifying gameplay total, residence, or ID-link status. Verify those details for the account you meant to use rather than assuming that console ownership or general gaming activity is enough. See the official PlayStation Japan campaign notice for the complete conditions.

The application is closed; eligibility did not guarantee a lottery win

The application deadline was October 7, 2026, at 23:59 Japan time. Sony said it would review eligibility after the application period and hold a lottery only if eligible applications exceeded the planned number of units. A person who met the conditions was therefore eligible to apply, not guaranteed a console.

If you applied, watch for Sony’s result and purchase messages

Sony scheduled result emails to begin around October 26, 2026, sent to the email address on the Sony account. Applicants who linked that account could also receive a notice through LINE. Make sure you can access the account’s registered email and check Sony’s current notice for any schedule changes.

Selected applicants had to complete their purchase through the online Sony Store by November 2, 2026, at 11:59 Japan time, using the same Sony account as the application. Sony listed credit card, Rakuten Pay, PayPay, and Merpay as payment methods; physical Sony Store locations could not process the purchase. The notice says unpurchased allocations could be offered in an additional lottery from November to eligible applicants who were not selected initially.

Application and order restrictions to know

  • The limit was one unit per Sony account.
  • Applications or purchases intended for resale were prohibited.
  • False registration details, missing the purchase deadline, and certain delivery changes could invalidate an application, selection, or order.
  • After ordering, address changes, carrier forwarding, and pickup at a distribution center were not accepted.

Which PS5 Pro model the application covered

The Sony Store application covered PlayStation 5 Pro model CFI-7100B01. Sony listed a recommended retail price of ¥137,980 including tax. The package listing included a 2 TB SSD console, DualSense wireless controller, horizontal feet, HDMI cable, power cord, USB cable, printed materials, and preinstalled ASTRO’s PLAYROOM. Buying a PS5 Pro from another retailer does not qualify someone for this Sony Store application.
