Use the canvass or certification to confirm the outcome
A results display and an official canvass or certification may be separate records. Read the “Yes” and “No” totals in the record for the exact measure, then rely on the official canvass or certification for the final result. Do not treat a preliminary results page, news report, or campaign summary as confirmation of the certified outcome.

For a statewide measure, verify that the statewide canvass or official certification covers that election and measure. For a local measure, confirm the result in the relevant county record; a statewide index may link to county materials without stating the local outcome itself. Utah County’s 2024 results page is one example of a county record trail, with certified results, a statement of votes cast, and signed certification materials. It is an example only, not a substitute for the record for another county or election.

Return to the Lieutenant Governor’s election-data page and use the office contact information there to ask for the appropriate record. Have the election date or year, county or jurisdiction, and the official measure name or number ready.

What details are needed for a specific answer?
To identify a particular outcome, provide the measure’s name or proposition number, the election year, and—if it was local—the county. Those details help distinguish similarly named questions and prevent confusing a local result with a statewide one. Individual ballot tracking status is not the aggregate outcome of a ballot measure.
