Search for the show while signed in to the streaming account you pay for, then read the offer on the show’s page before pressing play. A search result only proves the service lists the title: it may be included with your plan, offered through a separately paid add-on, or available only to rent or buy.
How to check whether your subscription includes a show
- Open the service you pay for and sign in. Search in its app or website using the account and country where you expect to watch.
- Open the show’s title page. Check the offer and playback button, not just the search result. Look for wording that says the title is included with your specific membership or plan.
- Check the seasons and episodes. Confirm that the season or episode you want is available; a listing for a series does not establish that every season is included.
- Check for an extra charge. If the page asks you to subscribe to an add-on, rent, buy, or pay per view, that offer is separate from your base subscription.
- Recheck if the offer is unclear or has changed. Catalogs and add-on offers can change, so confirm the current offer on the service’s own title page before paying or watching.
What the offer labels mean

Why a show may not appear in search
A missing result can reflect more than the service not carrying the show. Netflix identifies several possible causes: regional rights, a title not yet released in your country, VPN use, profile maturity settings, blocked titles, or the profile’s language. Netflix also directs users to check information about titles leaving its catalog (Netflix Help Center). These are Netflix-specific examples; other services may have different rules.

- Confirm the country or region selected in your availability guide matches where you are watching.
- Check whether the show has a local release date or has recently left the service.
- Review the profile’s maturity restrictions, blocked-title list, and language settings.
- If you use a VPN, turn it off and search again; it can affect which titles appear.
- Try the show’s exact title and check whether the listing is for a particular season or episode.
Use an availability guide as a cross-check
A service-availability guide can help you compare where a show is offered, but treat it as a discovery aid rather than the final authority for your account. JustWatch documents provider filters including All, My Services, Subscriptions, Buy/Rent, and Free. Select your country and the services you actually subscribe to; use the Subscriptions filter to distinguish subscription offers from Buy/Rent results (JustWatch app documentation).

Why Prime Video needs a closer look
Prime Video combines several kinds of offers in one service: titles included with Prime, rentals and purchases, add-on subscriptions, and pay-per-view where available. Amazon explains that Included with Prime content is covered by the Prime Video membership, while the other offer types require additional payment (Amazon Prime Video Help, “What Can I Watch on Prime Video?”). Check the title page’s label rather than assuming that a Prime Video listing is included.
Amazon’s September 17, 2026 article describes more than 100 streaming subscriptions and more than 900 FAST channels available through Prime Video for U.S. customers. These figures describe Amazon’s U.S. offering, not a global catalog count, and the subscriptions cost extra; availability varies by region (About Amazon). To browse options Amazon says are locally available, sign in on the web and open the Subscriptions tab. The presence of a channel in that catalog does not mean it is part of the base Prime membership.

When to check again
Streaming catalogs are time-sensitive. Amazon says the Included with Prime selection changes over time, and JustWatch describes daily updates to its availability data (Amazon Prime Video Help; JustWatch partner documentation). If you are deciding whether to start a show or pay for an add-on, verify the offer on the provider’s title page at that time.
