To check whether a PS5 game supports 60 FPS, look for an explicit frame-rate target in the game’s official PlayStation Store listing, publisher or developer specifications, or patch notes. Confirm which PS5 mode the target applies to and check the game’s current version. If you own the game, inspect its graphics or display settings—but a “Performance” label by itself does not guarantee 60 FPS.
Check the game’s official specifications first
- Search the exact game title with “PS5 60 FPS,” “frame rate,” or “performance mode.” Prioritize the PlayStation Store listing, official publisher or developer pages, and official patch notes.
- Confirm the claim applies to the PS5 version. A figure for another platform may not describe the PS5 version.
- Look for a specific frame-rate figure and the mode it belongs to. “Performance mode” or “high frame rate” without a stated target does not establish 60 FPS support.
- Check the publication or patch date and version. Updates can add or change display options, so older information may not describe the current game.
Published targets are specifications, not a guarantee that the game will hold that frame rate in every scene. Read any qualification such as “up to” or a display requirement alongside the number.

Check the game’s own settings if you have it installed
Open the game’s graphics, display, or video options and look for a frame-rate target or selectable mode. Names and available options vary by title. Compare what you find with the game’s official specifications or patch notes; the mode name alone is not enough to identify its target.
For example, Naughty Dog announced that patch 1.08 for The Last of Us Part II added a Display option to choose a 30 FPS or 60 FPS target. Do not confuse a PS5 display setting with game support
On the console, go to Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output to view connected HDMI device information and adjust output settings. PlayStation’s PS5 resolution guide explains that the 120 Hz Output setting enables 120 Hz video output for compatible TVs and games. It describes the console’s output—not whether a particular game supports 60 FPS.
The available official guidance does not establish a universal PS5 menu or system screen that reports 60 FPS support for every game. Check the title’s own specifications instead. A compatible TV or display can matter for higher-refresh-rate output, but it does not tell you the game’s frame-rate target.

These examples are specific to the named games and their stated PS5 modes. In particular, Rainbow Six Siege shows that “Performance Mode” does not necessarily mean 60 FPS: its announced target is 120 FPS.

Quick checklist before relying on a claim
- Is the figure explicitly stated, rather than inferred from “Performance” or “high frame rate”?
- Does it apply to the PS5 version and the mode you plan to use?
- Is the information current for the game’s version or patch?
- Are there display or connection requirements, especially for targets above 60 FPS?
- Is the figure a published target, or is it qualified as variable or “up to” a rate? Do not treat a target as proof of a consistent result in every scene.
