To check whether a PS5 game is included with PlayStation Plus, find it in the current PlayStation Plus catalogue and confirm which membership tier the listing requires. On PS5, open PlayStation Plus > Benefits > Game Catalog. Also check for a removal date: Game Catalog access can end when a title leaves the service.
Find the game in the PS5 Game Catalog
- From the PS5 Games home screen, scroll right and select PlayStation Plus. Sony’s PlayStation Plus Game Catalog help page gives this navigation instruction.
- Open Benefits, then select Game Catalog.
- Search for or browse to the exact game. Open its listing and check the displayed access options and membership requirement. You can also browse the catalogues on Sony’s PlayStation Plus games page.
- Check whether the listing shows a date when the game will leave the service. Catalog availability can change, so a game appearing today does not guarantee access indefinitely.
Check which membership benefit applies
“Included with PlayStation Plus” can refer to either a Monthly Game or a Game Catalog title. These are separate benefits, and their access rules differ. The following comparison reflects Sony’s US plan pages; plan names and benefits can vary by country.

Monthly Games follow different rules
Monthly Games are offered separately from the Game Catalog. Sony describes them as games members can download and play at no extra cost during an active membership. On PS5, find them under PlayStation Plus > Benefits > Monthly Games.

Add a Monthly Game to your library while it is being offered. Once claimed, it can be downloaded and played while your membership remains active. A Game Catalog title, by contrast, is available through an eligible plan only while it remains in that catalogue. If the game does not appear
- Confirm that you are viewing the correct section: Monthly Games, Game Catalog, Classics Catalog, and trials are different benefits.
- Check that your membership tier matches the benefit shown on the listing. In Sony’s US comparison, the Game Catalog is included with Extra and Premium, not Essential.
- Check your country or region. Catalogue availability and plan benefits can differ, so an old list or a listing for another region may not reflect your account’s access.
- Look for a removal date or other access terms on the game’s current listing. Catalogue membership does not make a title permanently available.
