To determine whether a professional GPU will fit, compare the exact card SKU with the exact PC or case—not just the GPU chip name or the label “SFF.” Check length, height, thickness, bracket, power-connector and cable space, then verify power delivery and system-vendor support. A card that clears the case by length alone may still be too tall, too thick, incompatible with the bracket, or unsupported by the workstation.
Start with the exact card and computer
Write down the full graphics-card model and board-partner SKU, plus the chassis model and revision. Cards built around the same GPU can use different coolers, shrouds, brackets, dimensions and power connectors, so a chip name is not enough to identify fit.

For an OEM workstation, check the maker’s supported-GPU documentation for that exact computer. A generic case measurement cannot establish that the system supports a card, its power demand, or any required riser or bracket.

Compare the card’s dimensions with the available space
Find the card’s published length, height and thickness, and compare all three against the case specifications. Check what each measurement includes: bracket, shroud, and power connector may be accounted for differently by different manufacturers. Also read configuration notes for parts that occupy GPU space, such as front fans, radiators, drive cages and risers.

- Chipset: NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030
- Video Memory: 4GB DDR4
- Boost Clock: 1430 MHz
- Memory Interface: 64-bit
- Output: DisplayPort x 1 (v1.4a) / HDMI 2.0b x 1
| What to check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Length | The card can hit a front fan, radiator, drive cage or other obstruction even if its length is below the case’s headline maximum. |
| Height and width | The card must clear the side panel, and the connector and cable may need space beyond the board itself. |
| Thickness and slot count | A thicker cooler can cover adjacent expansion slots or block another device or connector. |
For scale, NZXT lists the H2 Flow (2026) as supporting GPUs up to 331 mm long, 65 mm thick and 150 mm wide; these are limits for that case and its specified configuration, not universal SFF limits. NZXT’s H2 Flow specifications should be read alongside the exact card dimensions and configuration notes.
Confirm bracket, slot and cable clearance
A half-height or low-profile card needs the right bracket, and the chassis must accept it. Confirm that the card’s cooler does not occupy a slot or obstruct a connector needed by another component. NVIDIA lists the RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell SFF Edition as dual-slot and half-height; those labels describe its format, but do not prove it fits every compact workstation. NVIDIA’s RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell SFF Edition specifications provide model-specific details.

Locate the GPU’s power connector and check the manufacturer’s guidance for cable clearance and bend radius. A card may physically fit while leaving no safe or practical route for its cable. NVIDIA notes that partner card dimensions often omit power-connector clearance. Its SFF-Ready guidance specifies a maximum 151 mm card height including cable bend radius, 304 mm maximum length and 50 mm (2.5-slot) maximum depth for covered enthusiast GeForce cards. Those limits are not a universal professional-GPU standard. NVIDIA’s SFF-Ready guidance also describes case clearances for that program, including a 312 mm allowance for the card and any extender; use it as an illustration of what to measure, not as a threshold for an RTX PRO card.

Compare the card’s total board power and required power connectors with the exact computer’s PSU capacity, available cables and OEM limits. Board power is the GPU’s rating, not the power requirement for the whole PC. Verify the PCIe slot and any riser, bracket or system compatibility requirements in the PC maker’s documentation.

The RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell SFF Edition is listed at 70 W total board power and PCIe 5.0 x8. Lenovo lists the earlier RTX 4000 SFF Ada Generation as a supported 70 W, dual-slot option for its ThinkStation P3 Ultra SFF. That Lenovo listing applies to that workstation configuration; it does not establish support in other PCs. NVIDIA’s Blackwell model specifications and Lenovo’s ThinkStation P3 Ultra information are model-specific references.
Keep GPU generations and models distinct
Professional SFF cards can share a compact format while differing in generation, memory and interface. For example, NVIDIA lists the RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell SFF Edition with 24 GB GDDR7, PCIe 5.0 x8, 70 W board power and a dual-slot, half-height design. The earlier RTX 4000 SFF Ada Generation has 20 GB GDDR6, 70 W board power, dual-slot construction and dimensions of 2.7 inches high by 6.6 inches long. Do not use one generation’s dimensions or support listing as proof of fit for another. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent installation-test results. Blackwell specifications and RTX 4000 SFF Ada specifications cover the two models separately.

Use this checklist before buying
- Record the exact PC or case model and revision, and the complete GPU SKU.
- Find the card’s length, height, thickness, bracket type, connector location and power requirements in its specifications.
- Compare those dimensions with the case’s length, width or height, and thickness limits for your actual configuration.
- Account for fans, radiators, cages, risers and other parts that reduce the available space.
- Confirm that the bracket and expansion slots work, and that the cable can connect and route without being forced against a panel.
- Check PSU capacity, available power cables, PCIe slot or riser requirements, and the OEM’s supported-card list.
If a measurement exactly meets a published maximum, confirm what the manufacturer included in that measurement and whether installed components reduce clearance. The cited specifications establish no universal safety margin; ask the case or system manufacturer when the exact configuration is unclear. NVIDIA likewise advises checking specifications and accounting for space, cables and assembly when assessing component compatibility. NVIDIA’s PC-building guidance discusses those practical fit considerations.
