Search for the exact game in Sony’s PlayStation Plus games finder, then confirm it in the PlayStation Plus hub or Store on your own console. Check the game’s category, your membership tier, your region, and any claim or removal date: a title appearing in a search result—or having been included before—does not necessarily mean you can play it now.
Check the game in Sony’s official listings
- Search the exact title. Use the PlayStation Plus games finder. Check whether the result is listed as a Monthly Game, a Game Catalog title, a Classics Catalog title, or a Game Trial. The finder is useful for discovery, but the local console listing is the better confirmation of availability for your account and region.
- Confirm it in the console hub. On PS5, from Games home, select PlayStation Plus, open Benefits, then choose Game Catalog for catalog games. Monthly Games are in a separate area. On PS4, open PlayStation Plus from the function screen and choose Game Catalog or Monthly Games. Sony says the console hub shows the full list for your country or region; see PlayStation Support’s console instructions.
- Check the Store action. For an eligible catalog game, Sony’s support instructions direct you to select Download. For a Monthly Game, add it to your library; on PS4, the instruction is Add to Library, then Download. If the listing instead shows a price or no eligible action, check the account, region, tier, edition, and current Store listing before assuming you have access.
Match the game category to your PS Plus tier
PS Plus games appear in distinct pools, and seeing a title on a PlayStation page does not mean every subscriber can play it. Sony’s US plan explanation describes the following benefits; plan names and entitlements may differ by country, so check the local PlayStation site or Store if you are outside the United States.

Check dates as well as the listing
Monthly Games have a claim window
Monthly selections change each calendar month. Add a game to your library during its offer period; after it is claimed, access continues only while your PS Plus membership is active. If Sony has announced a game but its start date has not arrived, it is not yet playable through that month’s offer.

Game Catalog availability can change, and a title may have a removal date. A previous announcement, old screenshot, or article showing the game in the catalog is not proof that it is still included. Check the current console hub or Store listing.

Availability can vary by region
Sony states that game availability varies by country or region; it also notes that Monthly Games lineups may differ by region. Use the console hub and Store for the country associated with your account rather than relying on a listing from another region.
Understand download and streaming options
Download eligibility and streaming eligibility are not interchangeable. Streaming is available only for eligible titles and plans, and not every game can be streamed. PlayStation Support’s catalog instructions specify at least 5 Mbps broadband for catalog streaming and require the appropriate plan. Sony’s US plan page identifies Premium cloud streaming as a benefit and says some games may not be streamable. If streaming is unavailable, check whether the game can be downloaded instead; a missing stream option alone does not prove the game is excluded from PS Plus.

If the game still appears to be paid
- Make sure you are signed into the account with the active membership.
- Verify that your tier includes the game’s category.
- Confirm the country or region set for the account and check its local Store listing.
- Check the offer start date for a Monthly Game or a removal date for a catalog title.
- Confirm that you selected the same game and edition shown in the PS Plus listing.
- Use the console hub or Store action as the final check rather than relying on a web search snippet.
Example: October 2026 Monthly Games
As of October 4, 2026, Sony had announced F1 25 (PS5), Hunt: Showdown 1896 (PS5), and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 (PS5, PS4) as October Monthly Games, but they were not due to become playable until Tuesday, October 6. The offer was scheduled to run through Monday, November 2. Sony’s September 30 announcement also said September’s Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life, and Chained Echoes could be added through Monday, October 5, and warned that lineups may differ by region. Check the local Store on the relevant date: an announcement is not the same as an offer that has already started. See Sony’s October 2026 announcement.
