“Final Fantasy VII” can mean several different games and releases. Write down the full title, including a subtitle such as REMAKE INTERGRADE or REBIRTH, and identify the platform you want. A physical release on a console does not mean the PC version is sold on disc.

For example, Square Enix lists REMAKE INTERGRADE’s PS5 Standard Edition as available physically and digitally, while its Steam and Epic Games Store Standard Editions are digital only. Square Enix’s format breakdown for REMAKE INTERGRADE is useful because it separates the editions by platform.

Look for explicit wording such as “physical,” “disc,” “cartridge,” or “digital only” on the publisher’s product or support page. Do not rely on a general announcement that a game is available on a platform: the announcement may establish the platform, but not whether a physical edition exists. For instance, Square Enix’s REBIRTH launch announcement says the game is available on PS5; its edition information is the relevant source for physical-format details.

Read the edition tier, not just the game name
Different tiers of the same game can have different formats and contents. Square Enix describes REBIRTH’s Standard Edition as available physically and digitally, while its Deluxe Edition is physical only. For REMAKE, Square Enix’s edition contents information identifies physical items in the Deluxe Edition, including a reversible cover, SteelBook case, physical soundtrack, and physical artbook. Those details establish what is included in that edition; they should not be assumed to apply to every platform or later release.
Confirm the regional listing and whether it is currently available
Once the publisher confirms a physical format, check the listing for the retailer and region where you plan to buy. Confirm that it names the right platform and edition, and review stock and shipping status. A publisher listing can confirm a product’s format without proving that a particular retailer has it in stock.

Regional listings can also differ. Square Enix’s North American and European stores list the PS5 physical REMAKE INTERGRADE & REBIRTH Twin Pack, with both games included and a listed release date of December 4, 2025: North American listing and European listing. Check the listing for your market for current stock, shipping, and any regional differences.
Recheck future-dated product listings
A product page for a planned physical release is evidence of the publisher’s current listing, not a guarantee that the schedule will remain unchanged. Square Enix’s North American store lists physical editions of FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION with a planned release date of April 8, 2027. Because that date is in the future, check the listing again before making a purchase decision.

Use this checklist before buying
- Match the full title. Include the subtitle, game, or bundle name.
- Match the platform. Verify the physical format for that platform rather than assuming console and PC editions are alike.
- Match the edition tier. Check whether the Standard, Deluxe, or other edition is physical or digital only, and confirm its contents.
- Match your region. Use the relevant regional store or retailer listing and check language or other regional details shown there.
- Check current availability. Confirm stock and shipping status, especially for a future-dated listing.
A listing marked physical confirms the format of the product being sold; it does not, by itself, establish that all game data is on the disc. Do not infer that detail unless the publisher explicitly states it.
