Check coverage and charges before you leave

Open T-Mobile’s International Plans page. Enter your destination—up to three destinations can be checked—and select the phone or device you plan to use. Choose Check coverage. Sign in if prompted for personalized information.

Confirm the plan on your T-Mobile account. Included data, calls, and texts vary by plan and destination, so do not apply another plan’s allowance to your line.

Review the destination’s current rates and eligibility. Pay particular attention to destinations outside the covered group or marked as pay-per-use; T-Mobile says country-specific rates can change.

If the included allowance will not meet your needs, review current International Pass options and destination eligibility before purchasing.

If you are taking a cruise, use T-Mobile’s separate cruise coverage information. Turn roaming off while docked in a U.S. port to avoid connecting to the ship’s network and incurring cruise charges.

What the checker can—and cannot—tell you
Coverage depends on location and equipment
T-Mobile describes service in 215+ countries and destinations, but that figure is the carrier’s stated footprint, not a guarantee of coverage in every location. The company says some areas have no coverage; a capable device and qualifying postpaid plan are also required for the benefits it describes. Check your specific destination and device rather than treating a country listing as a promise of service everywhere.

T-Mobile distinguishes Canada and Mexico from its broader covered destination group, and some destinations have no standard rate-plan roaming benefits or International Pass coverage. The checker and destination rate details are the relevant sources for your trip. If the result is unclear, confirm the line’s terms in your account before relying on a particular allowance or price.

Understand the costs before relying on roaming
Included service is not the same for every plan
T-Mobile’s postpaid international page lists texts as included in its 215+ covered destinations and roaming calls at $0.50 per minute in those destinations. High-speed data allowances depend on the plan; some descriptions say data continues at reduced speed after the high-speed amount is used. Treat the allowance shown for your own plan as authoritative rather than assuming a generic figure applies.
Do not extend the $0.50-per-minute call rate to countries outside the covered group. T-Mobile says more than 20 countries and destinations lack rate-plan roaming benefits or International Pass coverage; calls, texts, and data there are charged at country-specific rates. Check the current destination details for those rates instead of substituting prepaid prices, which are separate from postpaid roaming charges.

Current International Pass examples
T-Mobile listed the following options on its International Plans page when checked on October 7, 2026. Reconfirm availability, eligibility, terms, and price in your account before buying.

These are service add-ons, not physical travel products. T-Mobile says an eligible primary account holder or authorized user can purchase through the T-Mobile app, My T-Mobile, the link in an eligible-country welcome text, or by calling 611 before departure. Confirm the destination is eligible for the pass you choose.

A ship’s cellular network can create separate charges, including while the vessel is docked in a U.S. port. T-Mobile recommends turning roaming off while docked in a U.S. port; once at sea, you can turn it back on, but data, texts, and voice used may be charged under cruise service terms. Check the cruise coverage information and manage roaming deliberately.
Know the limits on extended use
T-Mobile says international roaming is not intended for extended use abroad. It requires U.S. residence and primary usage on its network, and it may restrict service for excessive roaming. A short trip and a long stay should not be treated as equivalent when evaluating whether roaming is suitable.
