1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTo check Samsung Cloud storage on a Galaxy phone or tablet, open Settings → your Samsung account name → Samsung Cloud. The screens can vary by device, software, country, and carrier.
Which route should you use?
| Route | Best for | What it shows or does | What to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy Settings | Checking available controls on a Galaxy device | Device-specific sync, backup, restore, and storage options; supported backup categories can be selected on some devices. | Labels and available items vary by device, software, country, and carrier. |
| Samsung Cloud portal | Reviewing account-level summaries or managing backups in a browser | Synced-app summaries, devices with backups, backup times, and options to delete a whole backup or selected categories. | It is not a file browser for every synced item. You cannot download individual backups or specific synced app files from the portal; recovery requires a compatible device. Samsung explains the portal’s limits. |
How do you check Samsung Cloud on a Galaxy phone or tablet?
- Open Settings.
- Tap the Samsung account name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Samsung Cloud.
- Review the storage and the sync, backup, or restore controls shown for your account and device.
On some devices, Samsung’s Canada guide gives a more specific route to choose backup categories: Settings → Accounts and backup → Samsung Cloud → Back up data. The settings page on your own device is the best guide to the features available to your model and region. See Samsung Canada’s backup instructions.

How do you check Samsung Cloud in a browser?
- Go to support.samsungcloud.com.
- Sign in with the Samsung account used on your Galaxy device.
- Complete two-step verification if prompted.
- Review the available synced-data summaries and device backups, including the backup times shown.
The portal gives an account-level view, not access to every file inside a synced app. Samsung says individual backups cannot be downloaded from the site. To recover backup data, use a compatible Galaxy device and its restore or sync process.

Samsung Cloud can back up or sync supported Galaxy data, but those are different functions. A device backup is a recovery copy; syncing keeps supported data aligned across connected devices, so changes may carry between them.

Samsung’s Canada guide, last updated September 11, 2026, lists these as examples of device-backup categories:
- Call and message history, and contacts saved on the device.
- Calendar data, alarms, clocks, and timers.
- Settings such as accessibility, Wi-Fi, paired Bluetooth devices, and selected display or security settings.
- Home-screen layout.
- App installation files and Samsung app settings.
- Voice recordings.
The Canada guide also says some large message files may not be backed up and files larger than 1 GB cannot be backed up. That is a file-size limit stated in Samsung Canada’s guide, not a Samsung Cloud account quota. Samsung warns that supported items vary by device model, operating system, country, and carrier, so check the list on your device rather than assuming every category is available.

Samsung’s U.S. page lists call logs, messages, contacts, calendar, clock, settings, home screen, and app data as backup categories, while describing a smaller set of synced items. The two lists are not interchangeable: check the controls on your device to see which data is backed up and which is synced. Samsung U.S. Cloud access and management guidance.
Why don’t Gallery photos appear in Samsung Cloud?
Samsung Cloud device backups and Gallery photo storage are separate. Samsung’s U.S. support page says Gallery photos and videos cannot be backed up to Samsung Cloud. Depending on your market and device, photo backup may instead use a separate service such as Google Photos, OneDrive app camera backup, or a supported Gallery integration.

Samsung’s U.S. Gallery guidance describes OneDrive integration and a Microsoft cloud-storage capacity control in the Gallery OneDrive settings. Samsung’s Samsung Cloud guidance and Gallery and OneDrive guidance explain the distinction.
Availability is regional. Samsung Germany states that Gallery synchronization with OneDrive ended there on September 30, 2026, and points users to OneDrive app camera backup or Google Photos. That date applies to the Germany guidance; it should not be treated as a worldwide cutoff. Check the current options and storage display in the signed-in photo-service account and on your device. Before deleting photos, check whether the service is syncing or creating a separate backup. With synchronization, a change such as deletion can carry across connected devices; a backup is intended to remain available for recovery. The effect depends on the service and its settings.

What should you do if Samsung Cloud storage is full?
First confirm that the space problem is in Samsung Cloud rather than a separate photo-storage account. Samsung’s currently inspected support pages do not establish one universal Samsung Cloud capacity for every account, so use the amount shown while signed in on your device or in the portal.

- If Gallery photos or videos are taking space, check the storage display in the separate service actually handling those files.
Samsung says you can delete an entire backup or selected categories using the phone or portal. Its U.S. phone instructions start from Samsung Cloud’s Restore data screen: select a device, tap More options, then choose Delete backups. Portal controls also allow deletion of a whole backup or selected categories. Deletion removes the selected cloud backup or category, so verify the device and selection before confirming. Since portal backups cannot be downloaded individually, restore needed data to a compatible device before deleting its backup. See Samsung’s deletion and recovery guidance.
