Check Jio’s official 4G and 5G coverage map for predicted availability at an address or PIN code, then test the connection at the exact place and time you plan to use it. The map is an outdoor estimate—not a promise of indoor reception, a 5G connection on every phone, or a particular speed.
Check Jio coverage on the official map
- Open Jio’s 4G and 5G Coverage Map.
- Search for an address or PIN code, or use the map’s location control to find the area.
- Choose the combined 4G+5G view, the 5G view, or the 4G view to see the predicted coverage layer you need.
- Check the map’s legend and disclaimer before drawing conclusions. Jio says its map uses a predicted Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) threshold of at least -110 dBm for both 4G and 5G. The page displayed “Last updated on: 10th July, 2026”; that is the stated map date, not confirmation that every locality was individually measured then.
Jio describes the map as showing “approximate outdoor coverage based on industry-standard prediction methods” and says actual coverage may vary. Buildings, floors, trees, terrain, weather, construction, network changes, device compatibility, signal strength, and network load can all affect what you experience. A covered map area is a useful first check, but it cannot tell you whether signal will reach a particular room or how fast the connection will be at a busy time.

Measure mobile performance where you use the phone
Coverage and performance are different questions: the map estimates whether service is expected in an area, while a speed test records how a connection performs at one moment. For a useful local check, run more than one test at the place you care about and note the download speed, upload speed, and latency. Record the approximate time, whether the test used Jio mobile data or Wi-Fi, and whether you repeated it.

- Repeat at different times if you want to see whether results vary with network load.
- Compare like with like: use the same location, handset, network mode, time window, and test method when assessing another service or operator.
- Treat each result as a snapshot, not a forecast for every user or the whole locality. A single test does not establish typical speeds across an area.
Look beyond download speed when judging whether service suits your needs. Upload speed matters for sending files and live video; latency affects responsiveness; continuity and indoor reach matter for calls and everyday use. A map layer answers predicted availability, not these performance questions.

Check JioHome broadband and Wi-Fi separately
For JioHome broadband, Jio’s help instructions say to open the JioHome app and tap Speed Test. Go to Network → Wi-Fi Speed to view the previous result or start another test. Choose Router to test the speed reaching a JioFiber or JioAirFiber router, or Mobile Phone to check a phone connected to Jio Wi-Fi. These options check different parts of the home connection, so use the one that matches the question you are trying to answer.
Jio suggests general online speed tests as a quick reference and presents the JioHome test as specific to the home setup. If Wi-Fi is weak in some rooms, MyJio’s Run Diagnostics can check signal strength around the home and flag weak signal, device overload, or router-placement issues. A home Wi-Fi problem is not the same thing as weak Jio mobile coverage.

What a 5G map result means for your phone
A 5G area on the map does not guarantee that a particular handset will connect to 5G at every point within it. Jio says you need both live Jio 5G coverage and a 5G-compatible handset; only a 5G device can receive the 5G signal. Jio also says a separate 5G SIM is not required: an existing Jio 4G SIM works as a 5G SIM on a supported 5G network.

Use published network figures in context
Jio’s wireless quality reporting includes measures such as availability, call setup, packet drops, latency, and measured download and upload speeds. These reports aggregate results by Licensed Service Area (LSA) and reporting period; they can describe reported network conditions, but they are not a substitute for testing inside a specific home, office, or other address.
For example, Jio’s September 2025 monthly wireless QoS report lists an 80th-percentile measured download speed of 300.68 Mbps for the AP LSA in Oct’25 under “All wireless plans.” That is a reported area-and-month aggregate, not a prediction for an individual address or a speed guarantee.
