To check an Ethereum ETF, use its issuer’s fund page for the latest dated holdings and fund figures, an exchange or market-data feed for trading in ETF shares, and SEC filings for historical records. Keep each number with its metric and as-of date: share-trading volume is not the same as money flowing into or out of the fund.
Check an Ethereum ETF in five steps
- Identify the exact fund and ticker. Ethereum ETFs have different issuers and exchange listings, so confirm the product before using its data. The examples below use iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA) and Bitwise Ethereum ETF (ETHW).
- Open the issuer’s official fund page. Find its holdings or ether amount, net assets, NAV per share, closing price, trading volume and shares outstanding. Note the date displayed for every figure. Issuer data may update frequently; the values shown on the iShares ETHA page on October 4, 2026, were dated October 2, 2026.
- Use the listing exchange or a market-data feed for ETF-share trading. This shows activity in the fund’s listed shares, not a direct measure of the fund’s creations, redemptions or net flows. Nasdaq’s ETHA information circular describes quote, trade and valuation-data dissemination.
- Use SEC filings for dated historical figures. Check the reporting period and the as-of date attached to each table. An SEC filing can contain figures for more than one date, so do not assume every number refers to the period end.
- Check corporate-action notices before comparing prices or share counts across dates. A split or similar action changes the share basis. Confirm whether the figures you compare are adjusted consistently.
What ETHA’s issuer page showed on October 2, 2026
The following are issuer-published ETHA figures dated October 2, 2026, as displayed on the iShares fund page. They illustrate which fields to record; they are not current beyond that date and do not describe other Ethereum ETFs.

How to read holdings, volume, price and NAV
Holdings and ether amount
Look for the issuer’s holdings disclosure or the stated ether or basket amount, and record its as-of date. Do not assume that an amount per basket is the same as the fund’s total ether holdings; check the label and units. Also note whether the disclosed figure accounts for other assets or liabilities.

ETF-share volume is not fund flow
Daily volume counts ETF shares traded between market participants. Those trades can occur without a corresponding net creation or redemption of fund shares. Volume therefore does not tell you, by itself, how much money entered or left the fund. Keep exchange trading activity separate from any independently reported creations, redemptions or flow figure.
Market price, NAV and indicative value
- Market price is the price at which ETF shares trade on an exchange.
- NAV is the fund’s calculated per-share value. The schedule and methodology depend on the product’s governing documents.
- Intraday indicative value is an estimate disseminated during trading, not necessarily an updated official NAV. SEC-filed exchange material for the VanEck Ethereum ETF’s proposed listing arrangements cautions that indicative value should not be viewed as real-time NAV; this description is specific to that filing, not a universal rule for every fund. See the SEC-filed exchange proposal.
To assess whether shares traded at a premium or discount, compare the market price and NAV only when their dates and measurement times are clear. An intraday share price compared with a prior day’s NAV is not a same-time comparison.

Verify historical holdings in SEC filings
ETHA: quarter ended June 30, 2026
ETHA’s Form 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 identifies the trust as listed on Nasdaq. It reports the following figures as of June 30: 2,695,456 ether, $4,292,908,953 in net assets, 357,120,000 shares outstanding and NAV per share of $12.02. Separately, it reports 385,000,000 shares outstanding as of July 31, 2026. Those share counts have different effective dates and should not be treated as interchangeable.

ETHW: a separate fund and date
Bitwise Ethereum ETF (ETHW) is a different product, listed on NYSE Arca. Its Form 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 reports 14,870,000 shares outstanding as of August 2, 2026. That is a dated filing figure, not current market data.

Compare funds without mixing unlike figures
For a useful comparison, line up the same metric, date and measurement basis for each ticker:
- Underlying exposure: ether quantity or basket amount, with units and any relevant assets or liabilities.
- Fund scale: net assets and its as-of date.
- Per-share value: NAV and exchange closing price, with the date and measurement time needed to assess a premium or discount.
- Trading activity: daily ETF-share volume and, if useful, a clearly labeled average-volume period. Do not substitute volume for creations, redemptions or net flows.
- Shares outstanding: the effective date and whether a split or other corporate action affects the share basis.
- Disclosure timing: issuer pages and exchange feeds may provide more recent information than periodic filings; filings provide dated historical disclosures.
There is no single update schedule established for every issuer’s live holdings file. Check the individual fund page and preserve the as-of date shown there. Disclosure arrangements described in the VanEck proposal, including daily holdings and NAV language, apply to the trust and proposed listing arrangements described in that filing; verify another product’s own documents rather than assuming the same terms.
