Connect the Galaxy Watch4’s flat magnetic charging dock to a suitable USB wall adapter, then place the watch face-up with its back centered on the dock. Check the display to confirm charging has started. For a replacement, choose a charger listing that explicitly confirms Galaxy Watch4 compatibility; a newer charger’s faster-charging claims do not mean the Watch4 will charge faster.

Check the watch display for the charging indicator. If charging does not begin, reposition the watch and follow the checks below.

Which charger works with Galaxy Watch4?
Galaxy Watch4 uses Samsung’s flat charging dock. If the original puck is missing or damaged, look for a dedicated replacement whose listing explicitly names Galaxy Watch4 compatibility. Samsung says replacement accessories are available through Samsung; availability can vary by region.
Do not assume that any Qi charging pad will work reliably: the watch needs to sit correctly on a compatible charging surface. Check the exact watch model compatibility before buying.

No faster charging should be assumed. Samsung identifies Watch4 as supporting standard wireless charging and distinguishes it from newer models that support faster charging. A newer-generation charger or adapter does not change the Watch4’s supported charging method. See Samsung’s charging troubleshooting guidance.

Can a Samsung phone charge Galaxy Watch4?
Yes. Samsung lists Galaxy Watch4 as compatible with Wireless PowerShare from a compatible Galaxy phone. It is a practical fallback when the dedicated dock is unavailable, but it is a situational alternative rather than the normal charging setup.

Remove phone covers or accessories that may prevent contact, then align the watch’s back with the phone’s charging area.

Keep both devices still while charging. If charging does not begin, adjust their position or remove anything obstructing contact.

Why is Galaxy Watch4 charging slowly or stopping?
Check these causes in order, starting with placement and the power connection:

Misalignment: Center the watch’s back on the dock and confirm the charging indicator appears.

An obstruction: Remove anything between the watch and dock. Metal or magnetic objects can interfere with charging and may cause damage.

Dirt or moisture: Check that the watch’s back and the charging surface are clean and dry.

A loose or dirty connection: Inspect the dock’s connector and cable for debris and make sure the connection is secure.

An unsuitable power source: Try a suitable wall power source instead of a low-power computer port or multiport hub.

A faulty or incompatible accessory: Try a model-compatible replacement dock. If the problem persists, contact Samsung support, especially if the watch is under warranty.
