To change your Free Fire nickname, open your player profile, select the edit control next to your current name, type the new name, and confirm with Diamonds or a Name Change Card if your account has one. Garena’s regional support pages for Brazil and Latin America describe this profile-based route. Button labels, positions, and prices can differ by client version and region, so the confirmation screen in your game is the final word.
Step-by-step: changing your nickname
- Open your profile. Launch Free Fire and open your player profile.
- Select the nickname edit control. Tap the edit control beside your current nickname. Garena’s Latin American guide describes selecting the nickname from the profile gallery, so if you do not see a separate edit control, try the nickname entry in the profile gallery.
- Enter and review the new name. Check spelling and symbols before continuing, because unusual characters can display inconsistently (see the troubleshooting section below).
- Confirm with the payment option shown. Choose Diamonds or a Name Change Card, whichever the screen offers and your account can use.
Diamonds or a Name Change Card
Garena’s regional support articles confirm both Diamonds and a Name Change Card as ways to pay for a rename. Neither official page consulted states a universal Diamond price, and neither promises that cards are always available. Costs and event availability can change over time and differ by server, so the amount on your confirmation screen is the one that applies to you.

Price figures you may see online
A BlueStacks guide reports 800 Diamonds for a direct rename and 390 Diamonds for a Name Change Card. Garena’s pages consulted do not corroborate these amounts, and other secondary reports disagree about the card cost. Treat these figures as unverified, and let the prompt in your game override them.
Nickname errors and display problems
Special characters
Garena’s Brazilian support guidance warns that special characters may not display consistently, because devices are configured differently. It recommends using only characters available on your device keyboard, which is the safest choice for a name other players will see on their own phones.

A name that is refused or looks wrong
If a nickname is refused or renders poorly, simplify it first: remove unusual symbols, retype a plain version, and check the game’s message again. This is a cautious first step rather than a documented fix.
The official pages consulted do not publish nickname length limits, uniqueness rules, banned words, or error codes. Any list of those details found elsewhere should be treated as unconfirmed.

General connection errors
If the problem is a general connection error rather than a message about the nickname, Garena suggests the following:

- Use a stable connection.
- Try Wi-Fi, then mobile data, to see whether one performs better.
- Close other apps that may be using bandwidth.
These are general connection remedies. Garena’s material does not show that they resolve nickname validation errors.
Getting help from support
For a persistent game problem, Garena’s ticket instructions say to sign in, choose the request category that matches your issue, and submit only issues within the support scope. Technical issues are listed under Game Concerns. Requests filed under the wrong category, or outside scope, may not be handled.
The guidance does not promise that support can reverse a completed rename or refund its cost. Do not assume either is possible, so confirm the new name carefully before you pay.
