Change Siri’s voice or accent
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Tap Siri. If you do not see it, tap Apple Intelligence & Siri instead; Apple places Siri preferences there on some software versions.
- Tap Voice.
- Choose a listed voice or variation. The available options depend on your Siri version and settings. If a voice needs to be downloaded, follow the prompt shown on your iPhone.
Voice variations are the setting to use when you want a different-sounding Siri voice, such as a different accent. Changing the voice does not change every spoken voice on the iPhone, including VoiceOver.

Change the language Siri understands
- Return to the Siri settings screen in Settings.
- Tap Language.
- Choose a language from the available list.
Language is separate from the voice choice: it determines the language Siri uses to understand requests. Apple notes that this setting is also used for Maps, turn-by-turn directions, and Safari’s Listen to Page feature. Options can differ by region and device settings. Make Siri speak answers aloud or respond silently
- Open Settings and go to Siri or Apple Intelligence & Siri.
- Tap Responses.
- Choose from the spoken and silent response options shown on your iPhone.
The exact labels and choices vary with the Siri version, so use the options displayed on your device.
Adjust Siri’s speaking rate, pause time, or text interaction
For accessibility-related controls, open Settings > Accessibility > Siri. There you can adjust Siri’s speaking rate and pause time. Apple also documents Type to Siri, but whether it appears depends on the iPhone model; it may not be available on Apple Intelligence-compatible models.

Where to find the Siri settings
Start in the iPhone’s Settings app. Depending on the software version, the menu is named Siri or Apple Intelligence & Siri. Within that screen, look for Voice, Language, or Responses according to what you want to change. Apple notes that Siri settings and feature availability can vary by software version, region, and device settings.
