Change the interval in the dedicated server’s Server Manager when that control is available. If you need to edit a file, stop the server, open its platform-specific FactoryGame/Saved/Config/.../GameUserSettings.ini, and set FG.AutosaveInterval under [/Script/FactoryGame.FGGameUserSettings]. The INI value is seconds, so 900.000000 creates a 15-minute autosave interval. Save the file and restart the server before testing.

What the autosave interval controls
Satisfactory’s dedicated-server Autosave Interval determines how often the server writes an automatic save. The current settings reference lists a range of 0 to 120 minutes and a default of 5 minutes. Setting the interval to 0 disables automatic saves. The server keeps three autosave slots; that slot count is fixed rather than another setting you can expand.

The user interface expresses the value in minutes. The configuration file expresses FG.AutosaveInterval in seconds as a floating-point number. That difference is the most common cause of an apparently incorrect setting: entering 15 in the INI means 15 seconds, not 15 minutes.
Choose the right way to change it
Server Manager
Use the dedicated server’s Server Manager settings page when it exposes Autosave Interval. This is the least error-prone route because the control uses minutes and the manager writes the configuration in the format the server expects. Apply the change, then restart if the manager requests one.

GameUserSettings.ini
Use the INI method when Server Manager does not show the setting, when you self-host, or when you need a value that must be applied consistently after a controlled restart. You need access to the files for the running dedicated-server installation and permission to stop and start that service.
Console commands
Some hosting instructions show a command such as FG.autosaveinterval 1. Command availability and syntax can change with the game version and with the provider’s console implementation. Treat such commands as provider-specific conveniences, not as a durable replacement for the current Server Manager control or the INI setting. If a console command appears to work, verify the resulting value after a restart.

- Identify whether the server runs on Windows or Linux.
- Confirm that you are editing the dedicated server’s files, not a client installation.
- Stop the server cleanly before opening the configuration file.
- Make a backup copy of
GameUserSettings.ini. - Decide on the interval in minutes, then multiply by 60 to obtain the INI value in seconds.
- Plan a restart and a way to observe a subsequent autosave.
Do not edit a client-side WindowsNoEditor configuration and expect it to affect a dedicated server. The server reads the configuration directory belonging to its own installation and operating system.
Change the interval in Server Manager
- Open the management interface for the Satisfactory dedicated server.
- Navigate to the gameplay or server-settings area and locate Autosave Interval.
- Enter a value from 0 through 120 minutes. Use 0 only if you deliberately want to disable automatic saves.
- Apply or save the settings.
- Restart the dedicated server if the manager indicates that a restart is required. A restart is also a useful way to confirm that the value persists.
- After the server is online, watch for the next autosave or reopen the settings page to verify the displayed interval.
If the control is missing, use the file procedure below. A hosting panel can expose only a subset of the game’s settings, and its labels may differ from the in-game terminology.
Change the interval in GameUserSettings.ini
1. Stop the dedicated server
Use the server manager, service manager, or hosting panel to perform a clean stop. Editing while the process is running can be overwritten when the server exits or can leave you unsure which value the process loaded.

2. Back up the file
Copy the existing GameUserSettings.ini to a separate backup location. Keep the original filename and a dated copy so you can restore the previous configuration if another setting is changed accidentally.

3. Open the server’s configuration file
The file is under the dedicated server installation’s FactoryGame/Saved/Config tree. Windows installations use the WindowsServer directory; Linux installations use the corresponding LinuxServer directory. A managed Windows panel commonly presents the path as:
/FactoryGame/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/GameUserSettings.iniOn Linux, use the same relative path with LinuxServer in place of WindowsServer. The exact absolute path depends on where you installed or where your provider mounted the server files. If several Satisfactory installations exist, select the directory used by the running dedicated-server service.
4. Find or add the settings section
Locate this section header:
[/Script/FactoryGame.FGGameUserSettings]If the section is absent, add it as its own line. Keep the square brackets and the spelling exactly as shown. Do not put the property under an unrelated Unreal Engine section.
5. Set the property in seconds
Add the property below the section header, or replace an existing line for the same property:

mFloatValues=(("FG.AutosaveInterval", 900.000000))The value 900.000000 represents 900 seconds, which is 15 minutes. Keep one active entry for FG.AutosaveInterval; duplicate entries make it harder to tell which value the server will use.
6. Save and restart
Save the file without changing its .ini extension. Start or restart the dedicated server. The server reads the setting at startup, so an already-running process may continue using its previous interval until it is restarted.
7. Confirm the result
Check the Server Manager display if it exposes the setting. Otherwise, observe the server through a complete interval and confirm that an automatic save occurs. Testing a 1-minute value temporarily can shorten verification, but change it back to your intended production value afterward.
Convert minutes to the INI value
Multiply the minutes shown in Server Manager by 60. Keep the decimal format used by the configuration example.

These examples use the documented 0–120-minute range. A number above 7,200 seconds exceeds that range and should not be used as a way to create a longer supported interval.

Why the setting resets or appears not to work
You edited the wrong installation
A client configuration, an old server copy, and the active dedicated server can each have a file with the same name. Confirm the executable or service path used to launch the server, then follow that installation’s FactoryGame/Saved/Config/WindowsServer or LinuxServer directory.
The server was still running
If you changed the file without stopping the process, the server may have kept the old value in memory or rewritten the file during shutdown. Stop it, restore your backup if necessary, make the change again, and restart cleanly.

The units were wrong
An INI value of 15.000000 is 15 seconds. For 15 minutes, use 900.000000. Convert every minute-based value by multiplying by 60 before saving.
The section or property is malformed
Check the section header, quotation marks, parentheses, comma, and property name. The working pattern is:

A panel regenerated the file
Some managed services write configuration from their own settings database when a server is restarted or reinstalled. If your value disappears, set it through the panel’s current Autosave Interval control when available, then restart. If the panel offers file access but no corresponding control, check whether it provides a configuration-save or startup template that must also be updated.

A console command worked only temporarily
A command accepted by one provider or release may not be recognized by another, and a runtime command may not persist to disk. Use Server Manager or the INI method for the persistent value, then verify after a full restart.
The interval is valid but saves are not visible
Allow the entire interval to elapse after startup. Confirm that the server has permission to write its save directory and that you are looking at the server’s saves rather than a local client directory. The interval controls when an autosave is attempted; it does not change the fixed count of three autosave slots.

Commercial hosting plans and panel features change independently of the game’s settings reference. Confirm the controls available in your own panel rather than assuming that another provider’s instructions apply unchanged.
Choosing an interval for a shared factory
A shorter interval reduces the amount of progress that can be lost after a crash, disconnect, or host failure, but it causes more frequent save activity. The documented default is 5 minutes, which is a reasonable starting point for many servers. Choose a longer value only when the resulting loss window is acceptable to everyone playing. Choose 0 only when you have a separate, tested save strategy and explicitly accept that the server will not create automatic saves.
