To change Siri’s voice on an iPhone running iOS 27, open Settings > Siri > Voice and choose an option under Variations or Voices. The exact list depends on your language, region, device, and installed software version, so the options you see may not match another reader’s screen.
Change the voice step by step
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Siri.
- Tap Voice.
- Under Variations or Voices, tap the option you want. Apple’s Siri settings guide treats the variation and the voice as two separate choices on this screen.
Apple’s user guide puts it this way: “You can change the way Siri sounds by changing the variation and voice Siri uses.” Listen to a sample by selecting an option and asking Siri a short question, such as the time, to hear how it sounds in everyday use.

If you cannot find these options
- Check your iOS version. Go to Settings > General > Software Update. The labels and layout described here apply to iOS 27; earlier releases may show different options.
- Look under Apple Intelligence & Siri. On some software versions, Siri preferences are grouped under this heading rather than appearing directly as Siri.
- Check your language and region. Apple notes that available languages and features depend on region and device settings. A voice you see in one country may not appear in another.
- Expect fewer choices on some devices. Options are not identical across all iPhone models and languages, so a shorter list is not necessarily a fault.
Settings that look similar but do different things
Several Siri controls sit close together in Settings. Changing the wrong one is the most common reason a reader thinks the voice change did not work.

About the Siri AI beta controls
Pace and Expressivity appear only where Siri AI is available. Siri AI is labeled as beta in iOS 27, so the set of voices, languages, and regions may change as Apple updates the feature. If the controls are missing from your Voice screen, the usual cause is that your iPhone, language, or region does not meet Siri AI’s requirements. Changing your voice in the standard list still works on those devices.

Speaking speed on iPhone, Apple Watch, and CarPlay
If you want Siri to talk faster or slower but keep the same voice, use the Speaking Rate slider rather than changing the voice. Set it on the iPhone, then check the paired Apple Watch or CarPlay system, which takes its rate from the iPhone. If the speed on those devices seems wrong, adjust it on the iPhone and wait for the change to sync.
