To adjust row height in Google Sheets, select the row number, open Resize row, then enter a custom height or choose Fit to data. You can also drag a row boundary to set its height by hand or double-click it to fit the contents.
Resize one or more rows using the menu

Click the number of the row you want to change. To give several rows the same height, select their row numbers together.

Right-click one of the selected row numbers and choose Resize row. For a multi-row selection, the menu label may be plural.

Enter a custom height, or select Fit to data to size the row or rows to their contents.

Click OK.
Selecting the row number, rather than just a cell within the row, opens the row-specific resizing controls. Google’s computer instructions for adding or moving rows, columns, and cells describe these options.

Choose a custom height when you need a specific dimension or want selected rows to share a consistent height.
Fit the row to its contents
Choose Fit to data when the row should expand or contract to fit its cell contents.

Adjust the boundary directly
Drag the edge of a row to change its height manually. Double-click the row edge to fit it to data. Google Docs Editors Help gives the same guidance: “You can also drag the edge of a row or column to resize it or double-click the row or column edge to fit to data.”

Select the row you want to resize.

Press Shift+F10 to open the context menu.

Navigate to the resize option and choose a custom height or Fit to data.
