To change swipe actions in Apple Mail, open Settings > Apps > Mail > Swipe Options. The setting is below Message List. From the same Mail settings screen, you can adjust message previews, conversation grouping and other inbox preferences; use the Mailboxes list in the Mail app to choose which mailboxes appear.
How do I change Mail swipe options on iPhone?
- Open Settings, tap Apps, then tap Mail.
- Under Message List, tap Swipe Options.
- Choose the actions you want available for swiping. Apple places Mail’s message-list preferences, account settings, notifications and threading controls in this settings area. See Apple’s guide to changing Mail settings on iPhone.
To use a configured swipe, open a message list. Drag a message slowly to the left to reveal the available menu and tap an action. Swipe all the way left to perform the rightmost action, or swipe right to reveal another action. Apple describes these gestures in its guide to organizing email in mailboxes on iPhone.

How do I change the swipe to delete setting?
Open Settings > Apps > Mail > Swipe Options and review the actions configured for the left and right swipe menus. Choose the actions you want to make available, then use a slow drag in a message list to reveal the menu and select the relevant action. A full left swipe performs the rightmost action; the result therefore depends on the actions you have selected.

Show more or fewer message lines
In Settings > Apps > Mail, tap Preview under Message List to choose how many lines of each message appear in the list. Apple says Mail shows two lines by default and allows up to five.

Group messages into conversations
Use Organize by Thread in Mail settings to control conversation grouping. This is separate from the swipe actions and preview length.
Show To and Cc labels
Turn on Show To/Cc Labels in Mail settings if you want those labels displayed in the inbox. Apple covers previews, threading and labels in its guide to checking email in Mail on iPhone.

Choose which mailboxes appear
In the Mail app, return to the Mailboxes list and tap Edit. Select mailboxes to show or hide them, or change their order; you can also create a mailbox from there. Apple’s mailbox organization guide describes these controls.
How do I see all messages in my iPhone inbox?
If Mail is showing inbox categories, swipe left across the category tabs to reveal All Mail. You can also tap More > List View. If the setting names look different
Apple’s current documented path is Settings > Apps > Mail, but menu names and availability can vary with iOS version and region. If the exact labels above are not present, check the Mail settings screen and its Message List section for the corresponding options.
