From there, you can adjust default alert times, turn Time to Leave on or off, and show week numbers. Notification display settings are separate, under Settings > Notifications > Calendar.
Change default alert times for Calendar events
- Open Settings.
- Tap Apps, then Calendar.
- Tap Default Alert Times.
- Choose Birthdays, Events, or All-Day Events, then select the default alert timing you want.
These choices set defaults by event category. To set a reminder for only one event, open it in Calendar, tap Edit, tap Alert, choose a time, then save. See Apple’s instructions for creating and editing Calendar events.

Turn Time to Leave on or off
- Go to Settings > Apps > Calendar > Default Alert Times.
- Turn Time to Leave on or off.
Add a location to the event for Calendar to use Apple Maps information about the location, traffic conditions, and transit options when advising when it is time to leave. Apple describes this as leave-time advice; it does not promise a precise arrival or departure calculation. More details are in Apple’s Calendar settings guide.
Show week numbers on iPhone Calendar
Open Settings > Apps > Calendar, then turn on Week Numbers. Apple describes this option as displaying the week number next to every week of the year.

Fix Calendar alerts that are not showing
Default alert timing and notification presentation are separate settings. If an alert is configured but does not appear as expected, check Settings > Notifications > Calendar. There you can allow notifications and choose how they appear, including on the Lock Screen, in Notification Center, as banners, and with sounds. See Apple’s guide to keeping track of Calendar events.

The paths above are documented in Apple’s English-language iPhone guides. If your iPhone uses different wording, look for Calendar in Settings and check its alert and display options. Apple’s cited guides do not establish one universal iOS-version range for these exact labels.
