Menus and available features vary by earbuds model and connected device.
Change touch controls on Galaxy Buds with a touchpad
Samsung documents touch-control customization for Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Buds2 and Buds Pro. Connect the earbuds to a compatible phone or tablet, then open Galaxy Wearable.

- In Galaxy Wearable, tap Touch controls.
- Turn the available touch actions on or off. To change what a press-and-hold does, tap Touch and hold and choose an action for the left or right earbud where the app offers that choice.
- To disable touch input altogether, switch off Touch controls on that page.
Depending on the model and paired device, the choices can include switching between Ambient sound and Active noise canceling, Bixby, volume up or down, and Spotify. Samsung also lists Earbuds settings > Labs > Double tap earbud edge as another volume-control option on supported Pro and Buds2 models. If you assign volume up or down to one earbud, the other earbud’s volume changes to match; you can also adjust volume on the connected device. Samsung’s touchpad-control guide describes the supported actions and model-specific differences.
Set Buds3 and Buds3 Pro pinch and swipe controls
Buds3 and Buds3 Pro use pinch and swipe gestures rather than the touchpad-control menu described for older models. Open the charging case, launch Galaxy Wearable, select the earbuds, then tap Earbud controls. The case must be open for this settings menu to activate.

Exact options and behavior can differ; consult the manual for your model if a gesture or setting does not match the description. See Samsung’s Buds3 and Buds3 Pro controls guide for the gesture instructions.
Turn noise cancellation or Ambient sound on
On supported touchpad models, open Galaxy Wearable > Touch controls > Touch and hold and assign the supported noise-control action. On Buds3 and Buds3 Pro, pinch and hold activates the preset function, which defaults to noise control mode; configure available options under Earbud controls.

Noise features are not available on every generation. Samsung says Active noise canceling is unavailable on the original Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Buds+, while Ambient sound is unavailable on Galaxy Buds Live. Check your exact model’s app menu rather than assuming a control from another generation will appear. Samsung’s listening guide covers noise-feature availability and device context.

These options are not a universal Galaxy Buds feature list. Samsung’s Buds3 and Buds3 Pro sound guide describes settings for those models. Its Buds4 and Buds4 Pro compatibility chart, marked as of March 3, 2026, likewise shows that feature availability depends on the connected-device category: it lists app sound settings on Samsung Galaxy devices, while some audio and control features have broader compatibility.

- Confirm the model: Look for Touch controls on supported touchpad models or Earbud controls on Buds3 and Buds3 Pro.
- Connect the earbuds: Pair them with the phone or tablet and open Galaxy Wearable. For Buds3 and Buds3 Pro, leave the charging case open when entering Earbud controls.
- Check phone compatibility: Samsung says Galaxy Buds, Buds2, Buds2 Pro and Buds Pro do not work with the iOS Buds app, though they can connect directly over Bluetooth. Samsung’s guidance says touchpad controls require a connected device compatible with Galaxy Wearable or, depending on model, the iOS Buds app. iPhone users may therefore have fewer app-based controls than users on a supported Galaxy or Android setup.
- Use the model-specific manual: Samsung notes that labels and operations vary by model. A setting’s absence may reflect the earbuds or connected device, not a missed step.
For older models, see Samsung’s touchpad guide and listening guide for device and feature context.
