If you mean message alerts on a phone, Discord’s app settings determine which notifications it sends, while your phone’s operating system controls how those alerts sound. Discord’s documented iOS setting turns notification sounds on or off; it is not a custom-tone picker.

Change Discord push-notification sounds on a phone
Mobile alerts involve two settings layers: Discord controls whether it sends a notification, and the phone’s operating system controls how that notification appears, including whether it makes a sound. Discord explains this distinction in its mobile notification guide.

Android
Android’s notification presentation and sound controls depend on the device and OS version. Discord’s guide discusses notification categories and system notification settings, but does not establish one universal sound-selection path for all Android phones. Check Android’s system notification settings for Discord and its relevant notification categories; the exact labels may differ by device.

Can you upload a custom ringtone to Discord?
Discord’s official support instructions describe call-sound settings and limited-time event packs, but do not document a general feature for uploading an audio file or choosing any arbitrary ringtone. Do not assume a sound file on your device can be installed as a Discord call tone.
What if the sound is a push-to-talk beep?
A beep when you press or release push-to-talk is separate from an incoming call ringtone. On desktop, open User Settings > Notifications and adjust PTT Activate or PTT Deactivate to manage those beeps, as described in Discord’s push-to-talk activation noise instructions.

Seasonal sound packs are temporary
Discord’s Winter 2025 sound-pack FAQ documented a desktop/browser pack available from December 19, 2025 through January 5, 2026. That period has ended, so the pack should not be treated as currently available. Discord said it was not downloadable. The Winter Ringtone and Sounds 2025 FAQ and Halloween Event 2025 FAQ document past event packs, not an always-available sound option.
