Ghost of Yōtei lets you tailor challenge and use individual assists, alongside options for subtitles, combat awareness, and control-sensitive interactions. PlayStation documents the available settings but does not publish an exact menu-by-menu route, so open the game’s current settings menu and look for the option that matches your need rather than relying on an unverified button path.
How to change difficulty in Ghost of Yōtei
The PlayStation Store describes Ghost of Yōtei as having “Adjustable Difficulty (Advanced)”: you can customize challenge or activate assists individually. That gives you more flexibility than treating difficulty as a single all-or-nothing choice. For example, if combat is the sticking point, consider pairing a difficulty adjustment with the specific combat aid you need.

Access-Ability’s 2025 review reports five presets—Casual, Easy, Medium, Hard, and Lethal—plus a custom difficulty option. Treat those names as reviewer-reported; check the current in-game menu for the labels available in your version. The official material does not establish when difficulty changes are permitted, whether they can be changed during every encounter, or whether a choice is locked after starting.
