For a YouTube destination connected through Switchboard Live’s direct integration, edit the Stream Group’s Stream Details to change the shared title and description, or customize the YouTube destination to give it separate details. If the YouTube event was added to Switchboard as custom RTMP, edit its metadata in YouTube Live Control Room instead: Switchboard says its title and description do not push to custom RTMP destinations.
Change the shared title and description for a Stream Group
Use the group’s main Stream Details when the same title and description should apply to eligible destinations that have not been customized.

- Open the relevant Stream Group in Switchboard.
- Select the pencil or edit control in the group header.
- Edit the title and description in Stream Details.
- Select Save & Next.
The group’s main title appears in its header and supplies the default metadata for destinations in that group that have not been customized. See Switchboard’s title and description instructions.
Give the YouTube destination its own details
Customize the destination when YouTube needs different wording from the other destinations in the group.

- Open the Stream Group editor and select Customize beside the YouTube destination. Alternatively, open the blue information button beside that destination.
- If you used the information route, open Destination Settings and edit its Stream Details.
- Save using the button shown in that route, Save Changes.
Switchboard documents the Customize control for destinations in a specific group that are not RTMP destinations. Its Workflow Page guide also describes the group editor and per-group stream title.
If the YouTube event is scheduled and connected as custom RTMP
Switchboard says group or destination title and description changes do not push to custom RTMP destinations, including scheduled YouTube events. Make the change in YouTube Studio / Live Control Room instead.

- Open the scheduled event in YouTube Studio or Live Control Room.
- Use the event’s Edit control to update its title or description, then save the change in YouTube.
YouTube Help says stream metadata can be edited from the stream settings page or while scheduling a stream. Switchboard’s scheduled YouTube Event guide explains the custom RTMP setup and metadata limitation; see also YouTube’s live stream settings instructions.

Switchboard says YouTube is among the destinations that support live title editing through its live-edit feature. That statement should not be extended to every destination or to custom RTMP connections. Switchboard lists YouTube’s stream title limit as 100 characters. Its cited instructions do not establish a description character limit.
