For the most dependable setup, join Zoom on a Windows PC or Mac and connect it to the TV by HDMI. Wireless mirroring may work with some Android devices or Windows PCs, depending on the exact Fire TV model and the source device. Zoom’s documented native Fire TV option is for the second-generation Fire TV Cube and Amazon Omni Fire TV series, not Fire TV Sticks generally.
First, identify which Fire TV device you have
“Fire TV” can mean a Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube, or a television with Fire TV built in. They do not have interchangeable Zoom support. Check the device name and model under the Fire TV’s settings before trying wireless mirroring or looking for the Zoom app. Amazon’s published specifications list mirroring capabilities by device, and its Fire TV lineup includes both Fire OS and newer Vega OS hardware. That makes generic instructions for every Stick unreliable. See Amazon’s Fire TV streaming-player specifications, its device comparison table, and its Fire OS overview.
What “casting Zoom” means
Screen mirroring
Mirroring duplicates the whole screen of the device running Zoom onto the TV. The meeting still runs on your phone, tablet, or computer; the TV is just the display. This is what most people mean when they ask about casting Zoom to a Fire TV Stick.
App casting
App casting sends content from a compatible app to a compatible TV device while the phone or tablet acts as a controller. Do not assume Zoom has a universal Fire TV cast button or that a Fire Stick is a supported Zoom meeting target. Amazon’s Matter Casting overview describes a system for compatible apps and devices; it does not establish support for casting Zoom meetings to every Fire TV.

Zoom running on the TV
In a native setup, Zoom runs on the Fire TV device itself, and a compatible external webcam supplies the camera. Zoom documents this as Zoom for Home for selected Fire TV hardware—not as a general Fire TV Stick feature.
Most reliable method: connect a computer to the TV with HDMI
If you have a Windows computer or Mac, HDMI is the simplest dependable way to put a Zoom meeting on the television. You need an HDMI cable, a free TV HDMI input, and an adapter if your computer lacks an HDMI port. The computer remains responsible for Zoom, the camera, and the microphone.
- Start or join the meeting in Zoom on your computer.
- Connect the computer to the TV with an HDMI cable, using the appropriate adapter if needed.
- Use the TV remote to select the HDMI input connected to the computer.
- On Windows, press Windows + P and choose Duplicate to show the same screen on both displays, or Extend to use the TV as a separate display. On a Mac, open System Settings → Displays and choose mirroring or an extended display.
- In Zoom’s audio settings, confirm which microphone and speaker you want to use. On Windows, choose the intended output device; on macOS, choose the TV under System Settings → Sound → Output if you want audio through the TV.
- Position the computer’s camera so participants can see you. If the TV is across the room, the camera built into a laptop may point at you from an awkward angle.
If the TV is only a large display, avoid playing the meeting audio through both the TV and the computer at once; that can cause echo. Use one speaker system or headphones. Zoom documents HDMI sharing in its Zoom Rooms guidance, but ordinary computer-to-TV HDMI is useful here because the meeting itself runs on the computer; the Zoom Rooms article is not a claim that a Fire Stick becomes a Zoom device. See Zoom’s HDMI and sharing guidance.
HDMI avoids Fire TV discovery and mirroring-protocol issues, and it preserves normal Zoom controls such as mute, chat, participant management, and screen sharing. Its trade-offs are the cable and the need to keep the computer within reach or use a wireless keyboard and mouse.

Try wireless mirroring from Android if your devices support it
This option requires an Android phone or tablet with a screen-mirroring feature, a Fire TV model that supports the relevant protocol, and both devices on the same local Wi-Fi network. Android labels vary: look for Cast, Screen Cast, Smart View, or Wireless Display. A phone that can cast to Chromecast does not necessarily support Miracast, and that does not guarantee it can mirror to a Fire TV.
- On the Fire TV, open its display-mirroring screen. On supported models, hold the remote’s Home button and select Mirroring, or locate the option in Fire TV settings.
- On Android, open the quick settings panel and select the screen-sharing control.
- Choose the Fire TV if it appears, then approve the connection on the TV if prompted.
- Open or return to Zoom on the Android device and turn it to landscape orientation for a wider meeting view.
- Keep the phone awake and connected to power for a long meeting. Stop mirroring from Android’s quick settings when finished.
Amazon’s device specifications identify Miracast or display-mirroring support for particular Fire TV products and uses; they do not guarantee compatibility with every Android phone and every Stick. Check the specification for your exact model before relying on this method: Fire TV streaming-player specifications.
Try Windows wireless display only if the Fire TV supports it
Windows wireless display uses Miracast, so the Fire TV and the computer must both support the necessary wireless display capability. On the Fire TV, open its mirroring mode if available. On Windows, press Windows + K, select the Fire TV from the list, and approve the connection if asked. Then open Zoom. Press Windows + P and choose Duplicate if you want the meeting on both screens, or Extend if you want to move Zoom onto the TV while keeping other work on the computer.
If the Fire TV does not appear in the Windows display list, use HDMI rather than spending a long time troubleshooting a feature your model may not support.

iPhone or iPad: do not assume the Fire Stick is an AirPlay receiver
iPhones and iPads use Apple’s AirPlay screen-mirroring protocol. A standard Fire TV Stick is not automatically an AirPlay receiver, so the Fire TV may not appear under the iPhone’s Screen Mirroring control. Zoom’s AirPlay instructions describe sharing to a compatible Zoom Room, not direct mirroring to any ordinary Fire TV Stick. See Zoom’s AirPlay guidance for Zoom Rooms.
The most dependable wired option is an HDMI adapter suited to your iPhone or iPad’s connector. A Lightning-equipped device needs a compatible Lightning Digital AV adapter; a USB-C device needs a compatible USB-C video adapter. Alternatively, join Zoom on a Mac and connect the Mac to the TV by HDMI. Third-party Fire TV receiver apps may be available, but availability, cost, permissions, audio behavior, and performance can vary; treat one as an optional experiment, not a guaranteed solution.
Can Zoom run directly on a Fire TV Stick?
Zoom’s current Fire TV documentation names the second-generation Fire TV Cube and the Amazon Omni Fire TV series for Zoom for Home. It does not establish general native Zoom support for ordinary Fire TV Stick models. Appstore listings can vary by device, operating system, region, and certification, so seeing an app on one Fire TV does not mean it is supported on every model.
Do not assume that sideloading an Android Zoom APK will make a Stick a supported conferencing device. An app that installs may still be awkward to control with a TV remote, lack expected camera support, or fail to update or behave as intended.

Native Zoom for Home setup on supported Fire TV hardware
Zoom’s documented Fire TV setup is for supported hardware paired with a compatible external webcam. A USB adapter may be necessary; on a Fire TV Cube, Zoom says the webcam connects directly to the Cube. Zoom also specifies an Alexa app and an Amazon/Alexa account created in the United States, with Alexa set to U.S. English. A Zoom account is optional for basic joining but recommended for the best experience. Zoom says this functionality does not require an additional Zoom license. Details and supported-device information are in Zoom’s Fire TV Zoom for Home instructions.
- Install and sign in to the Alexa app on a mobile device. You can connect a calendar in Alexa if you want to join scheduled meetings more easily.
- Set up the supported Fire TV with the Alexa account and connect a compatible webcam. Check compatibility before buying a camera; not every USB webcam is guaranteed to work.
- Open the Fire TV Appstore, search for Zoom, and select Install, or ask, “Alexa, find Zoom.”
- Open Zoom for Home and sign in if desired.
- Join with a meeting ID and passcode, an Alexa-linked calendar, or the calendar associated with your Zoom account. Alexa voice joining supports commands such as “Alexa, join my Zoom meeting”; Zoom says alphanumeric meeting IDs are not supported in the voice-join workflow.
This option makes sense for someone who wants a dedicated TV-based conferencing setup. It is not necessary if the goal is simply to make a meeting already running on a phone or computer appear larger.

Fire TV does not appear in the device list
- Confirm the Fire TV model supports the source device’s mirroring protocol; not every Fire TV supports every protocol.
- Put both devices on the same non-guest Wi-Fi network. Guest-network isolation, corporate Wi-Fi restrictions, or router client isolation can block discovery.
- Temporarily disable a VPN, reopen Fire TV mirroring mode, and restart both devices.
- Install available updates for Fire TV, Zoom, and the source device, then try again.
- If the device still cannot be found, use HDMI.
Amazon’s newer Fire TV lineup includes different operating systems, so model-specific instructions matter. Its device identification guide can help distinguish devices and operating systems.
Picture appears, but Zoom audio stays on the phone or computer
Screen mirroring does not guarantee that meeting audio switches to the TV. Check the source device’s audio output: in Windows, select the TV or HDMI output as the speaker; on a Mac, select the TV in System Settings → Sound → Output. On a phone, check its sound output controls. Use only one nearby speaker system to avoid echo.

There is echo or feedback
- Use headphones connected to the device running Zoom, or use only one speaker system.
- Do not join the same meeting on two devices with both microphones and speakers active. If you need both devices in the meeting, disconnect audio on one.
- If the TV is only a display, mute its speakers and use headphones or the computer’s speakers.
Video is laggy or choppy
Wireless mirroring adds another connection that can introduce delay. Move the source device and Fire TV nearer the router, use a less-congested 5-GHz network if both devices support it, and pause other high-bandwidth activity. If the meeting remains unstable, switch to HDMI. Turning off your outgoing camera may also help when the connection cannot sustain the call.
Controls are hard to use, or private information is visible
The TV does not become a touch-enabled Zoom controller when you mirror. Keep the source device nearby for mute, camera, participant controls, chat, and screen sharing. Mirroring also exposes the whole device screen, including notifications and anything else you open. Turn on Do Not Disturb, close unrelated apps and tabs, and use Zoom full-screen mode; an extended computer display can keep unrelated work off the TV.
Choose the right method
| Method | Reliability | What you need | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Computer to TV by HDMI | High | Computer running Zoom, HDMI cable, and possibly an adapter | Most people who want a stable meeting on the TV |
| Android wireless mirroring | Variable; depends on both devices and network | Compatible Android device and Fire TV, same local Wi-Fi | Quick wireless viewing when the Fire TV appears |
| Windows wireless display | Variable; depends on Miracast support | Windows PC and compatible Fire TV | Windows users who want to avoid a cable |
| iPhone or iPad wireless receiver | Variable | Compatible receiver solution, if available | Apple users willing to accept third-party app limitations |
| Supported Fire TV Cube or Omni with webcam | Designed for the documented native setup | Supported model, compatible webcam, and Alexa setup | A dedicated TV conferencing system |
For occasional meetings, use the computer you already have and connect it by HDMI. Try wireless mirroring only if you value convenience and your particular devices support it. If Zoom should run on the TV without a phone or computer, choose hardware Zoom documents for Zoom for Home rather than assuming a Stick will do the job.
