For a quick Wild Hearts clip, try the Windows+Alt+R Game Bar shortcut; for more control over capture and audio, use OBS Studio. Before recording a full hunt, make a short test to confirm the picture, sound and performance on your PC. The steps below are general Windows and OBS guidance, not a report of Wild Hearts-specific testing.
1. Try Xbox Game Bar for a quick clip
Xbox Wire’s 2015 guide describes Windows+G as the shortcut to open Game Bar and Windows+Alt+R as the shortcut to start or stop a recording. In some fullscreen games, the overlay may not appear, but the recording shortcut may still work. Because that guide predates current Windows versions, treat it as a quick method to check—not definitive Windows 11 instructions. Xbox Wire’s Game Bar guide

- Launch Wild Hearts and load into gameplay.
- Press Windows+Alt+R to start recording. Press the same keys again to stop.
- Open your Windows settings and check the available Game Bar and capture options if the shortcut does not work or you need to confirm where clips are saved. Labels and paths can differ by Windows version.
- Make a brief test clip and play it back before relying on Game Bar for a longer session.
2. Choose OBS Studio for more capture control
OBS Studio takes more setup than a quick Game Bar shortcut, but lets you configure scenes, capture sources and audio. OBS recommends trying Game Capture first for Windows games; it is designed to capture DirectX or OpenGL games directly. OBS Game Capture source documentation

- Open OBS. If you are new to it, run the Auto-Configuration Wizard and choose the option for recording; the wizard considers your recording goal and computer resources. OBS Quick Start Guide
- Start Wild Hearts and leave it running, then return to OBS.
- In the Sources box, select +, choose Game Capture, and select the fullscreen application or Wild Hearts window. OBS advises selecting the game while it is running.
- Check the OBS preview. If it shows the game, record a short sample and play it back before starting a longer session.
If the preview is blank
Check OBS’s Game Capture troubleshooting guidance and make a short test recording. If Game Capture still does not capture the game, try Window Capture where it applies to your setup. OBS’s documented options can vary with Windows, the game’s display mode and OBS version; no source mode is guaranteed to work with every configuration.

3. Test sound and performance before a long session
Confirm the audio you want is being recorded
If you want game audio and commentary, confirm the intended game-audio and microphone sources are active in OBS and that their meters move while you play and speak. Record and play back a short sample to check that both are audible and balanced. OBS documents per-application audio capture on Windows 10 version 2004 or later and Windows 11; OBS 30.1 and later can include audio with a Game Capture or Window Capture source. The available audio behavior depends on the application output, Windows version and OBS version. OBS application audio capture guide
Check GPU assignment on a laptop or multi-GPU PC
OBS says Game Capture can fail or perform poorly if OBS runs on an integrated GPU while the game runs on a discrete GPU. If you see that behavior, assign both applications to the high-performance GPU using the graphics settings available on your Windows system. OBS also documents potential conflicts involving Windows background recording features and hardware encoding; its guidance focuses on Windows 10 and includes version-specific advice, so do not assume an older settings path applies to your Windows installation. Do not treat the game’s requirements as a recording guarantee
EA lists Wild Hearts’ Windows minimum specification as 64-bit Windows 10, a Ryzen 5 2600 or Core i5-8400, 12 GB RAM, a Radeon RX 5500 XT 8 GB or GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB, DirectX 12 and 80 GB of storage. Its recommended specification lists a Ryzen 5 3600 or Core i7-8700K, 16 GB RAM, a Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB or GeForce GTX 2070 8 GB, DirectX 12 and 80 GB of storage. EA’s Wild Hearts PC system requirements
Steam associates the game’s minimum tier with 1080p at 30 fps on Lowest and its recommended tier with 1080p at 60 fps on Standard. Those are game requirement notes, not results for recording while playing. Wild Hearts on Steam Recording adds work for the system, and the outcome depends on the PC and capture configuration. If play or capture is unstable, try reducing the game’s graphics settings or the recording resolution, then test again.
