CaptureKit can take a screenshot of a page from its URL, but its reviewed documentation does not promise Hindi or Devanagari rendering or specify a Hindi locale or font configuration. Choose the screenshot format, capture scope and wait settings for the target page, keep the page’s styling and fonts available, then inspect the returned file. The workflow below uses documented controls; it is not a claim that Hindi rendering has been tested or guaranteed.
Choose the right CaptureKit path
| CaptureKit path | Use it for | What it returns |
|---|---|---|
| Screenshot endpoint | A visual snapshot of the rendered page | PNG, JPEG/JPG, WebP or PDF, with capture controls. Official screenshot endpoint documentation |
| Content API | Structured page content, metadata, links, or optional HTML/Markdown | Extracted content, not a visual screenshot. Official Content API documentation |
| Website Crawler | Retrieving raw page HTML | Raw HTML from request-mode fetching without browser rendering; it is not a substitute for a visual capture. Official Website Crawler documentation |
For an image or PDF that shows how the page appears, use the screenshot endpoint. Choose the Content API or crawler only when extracted text or source HTML—not a rendered visual—is the intended output.

Capture a Hindi page with the screenshot endpoint
1. Send the exact page URL from a backend
CaptureKit documents its API as a backend-facing service. Keep the API key out of browser-side JavaScript and mobile apps, where users could inspect it. Send the key in the documented x-api-key header. See the CaptureKit quick-start guidance and integration documentation.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →2. Pick an output format and capture scope
The screenshot endpoint documents PNG, JPEG/JPG, WebP and PDF. For a page with small Hindi text, PNG or PDF is a reasonable starting choice because these formats can preserve detail; this is practical guidance, not a CaptureKit guarantee about Devanagari quality. Use viewport capture when you need only what is initially visible, or full_page when you need the whole page.

If a page loads content as it is scrolled, the endpoint also documents full_page_scroll and full_page_scroll_duration. These controls address page-loading behavior and capture coverage; the documentation does not say they alter Hindi font rendering. Consult the endpoint reference for current parameter names and request format.
3. Choose a wait strategy for the actual page
The documented wait_until choices include load, domcontentloaded, networkidle0 and networkidle2. The endpoint also supports a delay and wait_for_selector. Select the condition that matches how the target site fills in its content: for example, wait for a relevant element if the page populates it after initial navigation. No single wait setting is documented as best for every page.

4. Leave visual resources available
CaptureKit lets callers block resource types, including stylesheets, images, scripts and fonts. If the goal is to preserve the page’s rendered appearance, do not block stylesheets or fonts needed by that page. This follows from the documented resource controls; it is not a tested finding about Hindi rendering or CaptureKit’s font fallback.
5. Save and inspect the returned artifact
The official playbook describes responses that can provide a hosted screenshot URL or a base64 image field, depending on response configuration, and explains saving image bytes. Use the response mode and save procedure that match your request; see the CaptureKit playbook. Then check the artifact itself rather than assuming a successful API response proves the page looks correct.

This is a practical quality-assurance checklist, not a report of CaptureKit testing.
What CaptureKit documents—and what it does not—about Hindi
The screenshot endpoint documents formats and browser-like capture controls, and the documentation lists fonts as a resource type that can be blocked. The reviewed official sources do not identify a Hindi locale switch, list installed Devanagari fonts, explain Hindi font fallback, or guarantee correct Hindi rendering across formats or device emulations. They also do not establish that setting a page language attribute or changing an encoding header fixes capture output.

Accordingly, treat correct rendering as something to validate on the specific target page. Compare the captured artifact with that page in a browser. If the result differs, try only relevant documented capture adjustments—such as allowing stylesheets and fonts to load, changing the wait condition, or capturing the content after it appears—and inspect again. Do not assume a setting resolves a font or locale issue without evidence.
Troubleshoot a poor or incomplete capture
| Symptom | What to check | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Hindi characters are missing, replaced or garbled | Compare the page in a browser with the saved artifact; check whether font or stylesheet resources were blocked. | Allow the page’s required visual resources and capture again. The reviewed docs do not establish a Hindi-specific fix; if the mismatch persists, send CaptureKit support a minimal reproducible page URL and consult current documentation. |
| Text or other content is absent | Determine whether the page adds it after navigation or only after scrolling. | Try an appropriate documented wait_until value, delay or wait_for_selector; for scroll-loaded content, consider full_page_scroll and its duration. |
| The screenshot shows only the visible portion | Check whether the request selected viewport or full-page capture. | Set full_page when the whole page is required, and inspect the bottom of the resulting artifact. |
| The image looks unstyled or lacks visual assets | Review resource-blocking options for stylesheets, fonts, images and scripts. | Do not block resources required for the page’s intended appearance, then recapture. |
| The output is content or HTML rather than a visual page | Check whether the Content API or Website Crawler was called instead of the screenshot endpoint. | Use the screenshot endpoint for a rendered image or PDF; use the other paths only for their respective extraction or raw-HTML outputs. |

ScreenshotNeo offers a URL-based screenshot API and MCP server. Its clean-shot steps can accept cookie or consent banners and remove more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers report the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server includes take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients. Those are ScreenshotNeo features, not Hindi-rendering guarantees: inspect the result on the actual page.
