Treat the result as a documented browser test condition—not a promise that Google will show the same search results a person physically in that location would see.
Set a location in Chrome DevTools

Open Chrome and navigate to a page, then open DevTools. You can also open DevTools on the Google Search page before running your query.

Open the Sensors panel. In the Geolocation controls, choose a built-in location, enter custom latitude and longitude, or select the unavailable-location state to test behavior when geolocation is denied or unavailable. Chrome documents Sensors as the DevTools control for overriding geolocation: Chrome DevTools Sensors.

For a location you will reuse, open DevTools Settings, choose Locations, and add a preset. Give it a name and enter its latitude, longitude, timezone ID, and locale; save it, then select it from the Sensors location dropdown. Use coordinates for the area you actually intend to test. Chrome’s example coordinates are not a substitute for your chosen test location. See Chrome DevTools location presets.

Navigate to Google Search and submit the query. If Chrome asks to share location, allow it for the test if appropriate. The browser permission for a particular site is managed under Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > Location. You can choose a default behavior or change permission for an individual site. See Chrome location permissions.
Chrome says that when location access is allowed, it sends information to Google Location Services to estimate where you are. Operating-system location settings on Windows or Mac may also matter, and work or school devices can be subject to administrator controls. If Chrome does not behave as expected, check those settings as well as the site permission.
Capture the Google results page
With the results page open, use DevTools’ screenshot capture command. Choose a regular screenshot for the current viewport. If the evidence needs content below the fold, use the full-size screenshot command to capture the full scrollable page. The available capture tools are described in the Chrome DevTools documentation.

For evidence you may need to compare later, record the query, selected coordinates or preset name, date and time, language or locale, whether you were signed in, and whether the capture is viewport-only or full-size. These details document the test conditions; they do not make Google’s results identical across sessions.
Understand what the location override does—and does not do
DevTools changes the geolocation information available to the browser. Google says Search estimates location using multiple sources, which can include device location and a general-area estimate; precise location may be used when device permissions allow it. Google also describes a fallback in which it may use the last device location if obtaining a current one takes too long. In that case, the cookie holding that stored location expires after six hours. Consequently, a DevTools override is useful for testing a browser’s geolocation response or capturing a browser-based demonstration, but Google does not promise that the override alone controls every location-dependent result or reproduces a real local user’s SERP. Results can also depend on other location signals and account or device settings. Do not assume a particular ranking, local pack, ad, or other feature will appear at chosen coordinates without checking that query and environment at that time.

Geolocation emulation versus Google Search preferences

Google’s Search settings interface may change: its help page currently notes that Search services settings are being updated. Avoid assuming one account-settings screen is universal. Google says that when you are signed in and save Search settings, they stay the same in browsers where you sign in. See Change your Google Search settings.
Troubleshoot a location test

The page still appears to use your usual location: confirm the intended preset or custom coordinates are selected in Sensors, then reload Google Search. The override does not guarantee that all Search location signals change.

Chrome does not provide location to the site: check the site’s Location permission at Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > Location. Also check operating-system location settings and any administrator restrictions on a managed device.

Your custom place is missing from the dropdown: add and save it under DevTools Settings > Locations, including the required timezone ID and locale, then select it in Sensors.

The screenshot omits lower results: a viewport capture only records what is visible. Use the full-size screenshot command when you need the page beyond the current viewport.

You cannot reproduce an earlier SERP exactly: retain the query and test context, but account for Google’s multiple location sources and other session conditions. The official documentation does not establish exact outcomes for every query, location, account state, or session.
