PageCrawl captures full-page screenshots as part of website monitoring, rather than as a documented one-off image-export workflow. To retain them, enable Screenshots for your team and Full Page Screenshots for the monitor. To save a screenshot from every check, including checks with no detected change, use Record every check where available.
Set up a PageCrawl monitor and enable full-page screenshots
- Add the page to monitoring. Open the webpage, click the PageCrawl extension, select “+ Track New Page,” choose what to track, set any optional importance or notification preferences, select a check frequency, and start monitoring. This creates a monitor; it is not a documented manual screenshot-download flow. PageCrawl documents its extension for Chrome and Firefox. Chromium browsers such as Edge and Brave can install the Chrome version; for Safari or another browser, PageCrawl recommends its bookmarklet. See the PageCrawl Browser Extension guide.
- Enable screenshot capture. In the team’s Active Features, make sure Screenshots is enabled. In the monitor’s Crawling Preferences, turn on Full Page Screenshots. PageCrawl identifies both as prerequisites for recording screenshots. See its Web Archiving with WACZ guide.
- Choose when to retain images. A screenshot can be associated with a detected change. To retain images from every check, including unchanged checks, enable Record every check at workspace level and select the relevant monitors or templates. The monitor’s Crawling Preferences also include “Record screenshots of every check.” This option is described as an Ultimate-plan capability and depends on the screenshot and full-page settings above.
PageCrawl’s product page describes the feature as “Capture and store full-page screenshots for your review.” The result is a static image for visual reference or change comparison, not an interactive copy of the website.

Choose screenshot capture or a replayable archive
Use a screenshot when a flat visual record is enough. Full Page Screenshots includes below-the-fold content; without it, the capture should not be treated as a full-page image. For a historical page state that can be replayed, use Web Archiving instead.

To use Web Archiving, enable it in Active Features, then configure the monitor or template to Archive, or set up workspace recording. The guide says archiving is available on Ultimate and requires checks every six hours or less frequently. If WACZ generation fails—for example, because a page has a complex structure—PageCrawl says it creates a self-contained HTML archive as a fallback. WACZ files can be downloaded and opened in compatible viewers. See the archiving guide for its configuration details.

Know what PageCrawl’s tracking modes mean
The extension offers tracking choices such as Full Page Text, Specific Area, Visual, Price, Restock, Feed, and Parse AI; available choices depend on the page. These are monitoring modes, not screenshot-export controls. Full Page Text tracks webpage text, while Visual tracks visual changes in a specified area. PageCrawl explains the distinctions in Available Tracked Element Types.
If you need a one-off image file
The documented PageCrawl extension workflow adds a page to monitoring and lets you review changes; it does not document a one-off full-page image download. If that is the actual task, use a dedicated browser capture extension as a separate tool. For example, the Chrome Web Store listing describes GoFullPage as a full-page screen capture extension; its version 8.9 history includes changes dated 24 September 2026. That is an adjacent option, not a PageCrawl feature.
