If your deliverable must have an exact pixel size, check the saved image’s dimensions; the menu choice alone is not a universal size guarantee.
Set Chrome DevTools to 2x DPR
- Open Chrome DevTools and turn on Device Mode with the device toolbar button.
- In the Device Mode toolbar, open More options and choose Add device pixel ratio.
- Set the DPR control that appears to 2.
Chrome defines device pixel ratio (DPR) as the ratio between physical pixels on the hardware screen and logical CSS pixels. Setting DPR to 2 changes the emulated pixel ratio; it does not mean that the page is running on a physical device. See Chrome’s Device Mode guide.

Choose what part of the page to capture
Visible viewport
With DPR set, open Device Mode’s More options menu and select Capture screenshot. This captures the current viewport.
Entire page
To include content beyond the visible viewport, select More options > Capture a full size screenshot. This is the full-page option, distinct from the viewport capture.

A selected area
- Open the DevTools Command Menu with Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows, Linux, or ChromeOS, or Command+Shift+P on Mac.
- Type screenshot and choose Capture area screenshot.
- Drag over the page to select the area.

Check the output dimensions when pixels matter
DPR describes the emulated relationship between physical and CSS pixels. It is not, by itself, a guarantee of one universal saved-image width and height across every page and capture context. If a design handoff, asset pipeline, or other requirement specifies exact dimensions, inspect the downloaded image’s pixel dimensions and adjust the viewport or capture setup if needed.
