In Firefox, open the menu, choose Print…, select Save to PDF as the destination, review the preview, then click Print to save the PDF. Use this when you need a page-oriented document; choose Firefox’s screenshot feature when you need an image of the visible page or the full webpage.
Save a Firefox webpage as a PDF
- Open the webpage in Firefox.
- Open the Firefox menu and choose Print…. Firefox opens the print preview.
- In Destination, select Save to PDF.
- Review the preview and adjust the page range, orientation, color mode, and options under More settings as needed.
- Click Print and save the PDF.
Firefox’s print workflow creates a document from the page’s print layout, not a pixel-for-pixel image of what is on screen. Mozilla notes that webpages can appear differently on paper than on screen, so check the preview before saving. Mozilla Support: How to print web pages in Firefox.

Adjust the PDF layout before saving
Firefox’s print preview provides page-oriented controls. The available choices help fit the page to a document, but they can also change how much content appears on each page.

- Pages: choose which pages to include.
- Orientation: use portrait or landscape to suit the content.
- Paper size and scale: change the page dimensions or how content fits on them.
- Margins: adjust the space around the printed content.
- Pages per sheet: place multiple pages on a sheet.
- Format: choose Original or Simplified when available.
- Headers and footers: control whether these print elements appear.
- Print backgrounds: include background colors and images where available.
If you select Simplified, Firefox does not allow Print backgrounds at the same time. The preview is the best way to catch awkward page breaks, missing content, or a layout that does not fit before saving. See Mozilla’s print settings guide.

Choose PDF or screenshot for the job

To take a screenshot in Firefox, press Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on macOS. You can also choose Take Screenshot from the context menu. Make a less cluttered PDF
If the page offers it, choose Simplified in the print settings’ Format option. Mozilla says this format can remove clutter such as buttons, ads, and background images. You can also turn on Reader View before printing when the page supports it. The Simplified option may not appear when no simplified version is available or Reader View is already enabled. Edit webpage content before printing
If you need to remove or change specific webpage content rather than adjust the document layout, Mozilla suggests an extension such as Print Edit WE. The built-in Save to PDF flow remains the direct option when you only need a PDF of the page as presented in print preview.
