Set the browser’s page zoom to 125%, confirm the displayed value, then capture the visible viewport or the full page with a browser screenshot tool. Page zoom changes how large webpage content appears; it does not guarantee that the saved image will have 1.25 times as many pixels.
Set browser page zoom to 125%
Chrome on desktop
- Open the website you want to capture.
- Open Chrome’s More menu and adjust the Zoom controls until the display reads 125%. You can also press Ctrl and + on Windows or Linux, or Command and + on Mac, until it reaches 125%.
- To make page zoom a default, open Settings > Appearance > Page zoom and choose the setting. Chrome’s desktop zoom guidance distinguishes page zoom, which changes the size of everything on a page, from changing only the font size.
Firefox
- Open the target page and use Firefox’s zoom controls to set the level to 125%.
- Check the displayed zoom value before capturing. Browser page zoom is separate from operating-system display scaling.
Choose the area to capture
A visible or viewport screenshot records the portion currently on screen. A full-page screenshot includes content beyond the viewport, if the chosen browser tool supports it. Select the scope that matches what you need; a long page capture may differ visually from a viewport capture because more content is included.

Capture in Chrome
Chrome’s built-in zoom controls set the page appearance; use DevTools to capture the screenshot. Chrome documents full-page, area, node, and mobile-view screenshot workflows in its DevTools screenshot guide.

Capture in Firefox
Use Firefox’s screenshot interface
- At 125% page zoom, right-click an empty area of the page and choose Take Screenshot, or press Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on Mac.
- Choose Save visible for the current viewport or Save full page for the whole page.
- Save the image or copy it to the clipboard. Mozilla’s Firefox screenshot instructions describe both capture scopes and save/copy choices.
Use Firefox DevTools or the Web Console
Firefox DevTools can expose a full-page screenshot button: in DevTools Settings, enable Take a screenshot of the entire page under Available Toolbox Buttons, then use the screenshot icon. Firefox’s Web Console :screenshot helper also supports --fullpage and a separate --dpr option. See Mozilla’s DevTools screenshot documentation for the available options.

Understand what 125% changes
Page zoom controls how large content appears in the browser. It is not the same as device-pixel ratio (DPR), which Firefox’s screenshot helper can set separately. A 125% page zoom therefore does not guarantee a 1.25× output-pixel multiplier or any fixed image dimensions. Browser-native, DevTools, and operating-system capture routes can render differently. Inspect the saved image to confirm it has the appearance and dimensions you need.

- The page is not at 125%. Check the browser’s page-zoom display, not the operating system’s display scaling or a font-size setting.
- The image looks larger but has the same pixel dimensions. Page zoom affects webpage rendering size; it does not promise a larger output resolution. Check the saved image’s dimensions and use the capture tool’s separate DPR controls if available and appropriate.
- The screenshot cuts off content. You likely captured the visible viewport. Choose a full-page option, such as Firefox’s Save full page or a supported DevTools full-page workflow.
- You cannot find Firefox’s full-page DevTools button. Enable Take a screenshot of the entire page under DevTools Settings > Available Toolbox Buttons.
- Chrome’s capture scope is wrong. Choose the DevTools workflow for full page, area, node, or mobile view rather than treating page zoom as a capture-scope setting.
