Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →You can automate this with a Make scenario: detect a WordPress post, send its public URL to a screenshot API, then route the returned image to storage or another destination. Make’s WordPress Watch Posts trigger is described as firing “when a new post is added,” but that wording does not establish that it fires only after publication. Check the live module’s status options and test its behavior before relying on it as a publish-only trigger.
How the Make workflow fits together
The scenario has three jobs: identify the post, request an image of its public page, and send the image somewhere useful. Make documents the WordPress trigger and an HTTP action for API calls; Browserless documents a screenshot endpoint that returns image data. The precise mapping from that response into your chosen storage or destination must be verified in your own scenario.

- Trigger: WordPress Watch Posts supplies post information to the scenario.
- Capture: Make’s HTTP Make a request action sends the post’s public URL to a screenshot service.
- Route: A following module saves the image, attaches it to an email, or passes it to another service. Test that the selected module receives the response as binary image data.
Make describes Watch Posts as “Triggers when a new post is added.” That is not the same as documented confirmation that only published posts trigger it.

Configure the WordPress trigger carefully
1. Add Watch Posts
Create a scenario in Make and add the WordPress Watch Posts module. Connect the WordPress account as prompted, then inspect the current module fields for a publication-status filter. The available source description does not document whether such a filter exists or exactly which status transitions the trigger detects, so do not assume drafts, scheduled posts, edits, and newly published posts are distinguished as needed.

2. Choose what happens to existing posts
If the trigger polls for new records, decide whether its first run should process posts already present. A Make Community answer recommends choosing “From now on” when only future data should be processed. This is community troubleshooting guidance, not an official guarantee for every trigger configuration. Check the start-point control in your account and run a test to confirm the outcome.
3. Consider polling versus a webhook
Make explains that a webhook can run a scenario when a request reaches its URL, generally immediately, whereas a scheduled trigger periodically checks for new data. A webhook can be an alternative if your WordPress site can send a publication event, but the sources here do not establish a specific WordPress hook or plugin setup. Do not treat a generic Make webhook URL as a complete publish-event integration by itself.
Send the post URL to a screenshot API
Add Make’s HTTP Make a request module after the WordPress trigger and map the post’s public URL—not an editor or preview URL—to the screenshot service’s URL parameter. Make lists Make a request as an action for calling APIs.

Browserless example
Browserless documents a POST /screenshot request with JSON content, a token query parameter, and options such as full-page capture and PNG format. Its API returns image bytes. Replace the example URL with the mapped public post URL and keep the token private.
POST https://production-sfo.browserless.io/screenshot?token=YOUR_TOKEN
Content-Type: application/json
{
"url": "https://example.com/your-post/",
"options": {
"fullPage": true,
"type": "png"
}
}
In Make, configure the HTTP module’s method, URL, authentication/token, content type, and request body to match the service’s current documentation. The exact interface labels and response mapping can vary; use the HTTP module’s response output in a test run to confirm it contains the image rather than an error payload.
Browserless documents PNG, JPEG, and WebP output as well as options for controlling when capture occurs. Its documentation also notes that blocked sites can produce blank pages, CAPTCHA challenges, or access-denied captures. A successful HTTP response alone does not prove the captured page is the intended published post.

Route and verify the image response
After the HTTP action, add the destination module you actually use—for example, a file-storage module or an email attachment action. The screenshot API returns image bytes, but the cited Make and Browserless documentation does not verify the exact binary field or destination mapping for every Make module. Run the scenario once and inspect the output bundle before enabling it for routine use.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →- Confirm the file content comes from the screenshot response, not a JSON error message.
- Give the file a useful name, such as a post slug plus an image extension matching the requested format.
- Check that the destination accepts binary content and that the resulting file opens as an image.
- Inspect the image for the correct public URL, expected page length, redirect behavior, cookie dialog, and bot-block page.
Test the publish-to-image flow before relying on it
- Save the scenario with the WordPress trigger and HTTP action configured.
- Use a newly published, publicly accessible test post. Verify that the trigger receives the post only at the stage you intend.
- Run the scenario and inspect the mapped URL sent to the screenshot service.
- Inspect the HTTP response and route its binary image output to the selected destination.
- Open the saved image and confirm it shows the public post rather than a draft preview, redirect, consent dialog, CAPTCHA, or access-denied page.
- Only then enable the scenario’s normal schedule or event flow, and monitor initial runs for duplicate or missed captures.
Troubleshooting common failures
The scenario captures drafts or misses publication
Cause: Watch Posts is documented as detecting a new post, not specifically a publish-status transition. Fix: inspect the current module for a status filter, test the actual transition in your WordPress account, and add a filter or a publication-event mechanism only after validating its behavior.
Old posts run when the scenario starts
Cause: the trigger’s starting point may include earlier records. Fix: inspect its initial-position setting. The community guidance cited above recommends “From now on” for future-only processing; confirm with a controlled test.

The capture is blank or shows a CAPTCHA/access-denied page
Cause: the site may block automated browser access, or the page may not have rendered when the screenshot was taken. Fix: test the URL in the screenshot service, use its documented waiting controls where appropriate, and check the resulting image rather than treating request success as proof of a good capture.
The image is missing or cannot be opened
Cause: Make may be passing the wrong response field, a text error body, or data in a format the destination does not accept. Fix: inspect the HTTP output bundle, verify the response is image bytes, and confirm the next module’s binary/file-content mapping and filename extension.

ScreenshotNeo offers a one-request screenshot API and an MCP server for AI agents. It can accept cookie/consent banners and remove more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each of those steps can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, with response headers identifying the page verdict and billing status.
For a Make HTTP request, use the documented GET endpoint and pass the WordPress public URL. The following cURL call saves a WebP image; replace the example URL with the mapped post URL and use your API key:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://example.com/your-post/ -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for the request parameters and response behavior. In Make, configure an HTTP GET request to that endpoint with the same query parameters, then test how the response body maps to your destination module.
- Cookie banners, popups, and chat widgets are removed before the shot.
- Bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed.

Sources and scope
The workflow components above are documented by Make’s WordPress integration, Make’s HTTP integration, Make’s webhook help, and Browserless’s screenshot API documentation. They establish the trigger description and API mechanics, but not a verified end-to-end Make scenario or universal publish-only behavior. Confirm those details against the live module and a test post in your account.
