Thumbalizr’s documented API does not establish a way to capture a page after signing in. Its Embed API takes a URL and offers rendering options, but the reviewed documentation does not describe session cookies, authorization headers, or scripted login. Before sending credentials or relying on Thumbalizr for private content, ask its support team whether the current service supports your authorized login workflow.
What Thumbalizr’s API can—and cannot—confirm
Thumbalizr documents URL-based screenshots through its Embed API. A request uses the target URL along with an API key and a token derived from the query string and secret. The API documentation describes capture options, but not how to establish or preserve a signed-in browser session. That means its documented workflow alone is not enough to show that a post-login page can be captured.

Do not assume that a URL visible in your own signed-in browser will also be accessible to Thumbalizr’s renderer. The renderer needs access to the intended page, and a login-protected page may instead return a sign-in screen or an access error.
How the documented Embed API workflow works
- Check access first. Confirm with Thumbalizr whether its current service supports the particular authentication method your site requires. Do not submit credentials until you understand how they are handled.
- Prepare the URL and permitted options. The documented capture input is a target
url. Options include image format and JPEG quality, thumbnail width, size(pageorscreen), capture delay, browser width and height, and browser country. Availability depends on subscription tier. - Construct the Embed API request. The documented URL form is
https://api.thumbalizr.com/api/v1/embed/{EMBED_API_KEY}/{TOKEN}/?{query}. The token is an MD5 digest derived from the query string and secret; URL-encode the parameters as shown in Thumbalizr’s official API documentation. The API key and secret are available in the member section after signup. - Inspect the response. Check
X-Thumbalizr-Status:QUEUED,OK, orFAILED. The API also provides generated-time and error headers; use these to determine whether the capture completed and to diagnose a failure.
Do not put API secrets in public client-side code. The documentation describes the credential mechanism but does not provide a security analysis, so consult Thumbalizr about a safe integration pattern before deploying one.

What to expect from Thumbalizr’s plans
Thumbalizr’s official demo describes different output capabilities by tier. Its feature page displayed the following quotas and one-month prices when reviewed in 2026; these are changeable commercial terms, so verify current pricing and limits directly.
| Plan | Displayed monthly quota | Displayed one-month price | Documented output notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 100 screenshots | Free | Watermarked, screen-size only, fixed at 1280×1024. |
| Silver | 2,000 screenshots | $9 | No watermark; full-page or screen captures at 1280×1024. |
| Gold | 3,000 screenshots | $13 | Larger browser dimensions, custom delay, and US or European browser locations are described for Gold/Platinum. |
| Platinum | 5,000 or more screenshots | $20 for 5,000 screenshots | Larger browser dimensions, custom delay, and US or European browser locations are described for Gold/Platinum. |
These tier details describe capture output and capacity, not authenticated-session support. A higher tier should not be treated as confirmation that Thumbalizr can sign in to a protected site.

When a login is essential
First identify the site’s actual authentication method: HTTP Basic Authentication, an authorization header or API token, a session cookie, or an interactive sign-in flow. Ask Thumbalizr whether it currently supports that method, whether it can wait for the authenticated destination to render, and what controls apply to credentials and captured images. Only use a workflow you are authorized to use; do not try to bypass access controls.

One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchIf Thumbalizr cannot support the required workflow, choose a provider whose current documentation explicitly covers that authentication method. For example, Capture.page describes HTTP Basic Authentication and custom user-agent inputs (Capture.page); Screenshot Scout documents session cookies or an Authorization header (Screenshot Scout); and ScreenshotOne describes cookies and authorization headers for sites that permit them (ScreenshotOne). Those provider-specific features do not establish that Thumbalizr supports the same methods, and they do not by themselves establish security superiority.

ScreenshotNeo is an alternative to try first: it removes cookie/consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture, and failed loads, bot checks, blank pages, and cache hits are not billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. For a page you can access through ScreenshotNeo’s supported request options, a single GET can return a screenshot; see the API documentation.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
This example captures a URL; it does not establish that a site’s login can be bypassed. Use only authentication methods and credentials supported by the service and authorized by the site. ScreenshotNeo offers 1,000 screenshots a month free with no card, and paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up for free.
