Then choose Capture screenshot for the visible screen or Capture a full size screenshot for the whole page.
Set the iPhone 15 viewport in Chrome DevTools
- Open the website in Chrome and open DevTools.
- Click Toggle device toolbar in DevTools. You can also use the device toolbar toggle in the DevTools interface; its location can vary between Chrome releases.
- In the device toolbar, open the device dropdown and select Responsive.
- Enter 393 for width and 852 for height. Keep the page in portrait orientation.
These are the logical dimensions used to test a responsive web layout. Apple lists the iPhone 15 at 393 × 852 points, corresponding to a 1179 × 2556-pixel display at 3× scale. Do not enter 1179 × 2556 as the responsive viewport: those are physical display pixels, not the CSS viewport. See Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines layout device table.

Optionally save an iPhone 15 preset
If you will use this configuration repeatedly, add a custom device rather than re-entering the dimensions each time. Chrome’s device settings let you add a custom device with a name and dimensions; device pixel ratio, user agent, and device type are optional fields.
- Open DevTools settings and go to Devices. Chrome’s Devices documentation describes enabling available devices and adding a custom preset.
- Add a custom device named iPhone 15, with width 393 and height 852.
- If you configure device pixel ratio (DPR), set it to 3 to reflect Apple’s listed 3× scale. Set device type to Mobile if you want mobile rendering and touch-event simulation where available.
- Save the preset, then select iPhone 15 from the device toolbar’s dimensions dropdown.
DPR and viewport dimensions do different jobs: width and height determine the responsive layout size, while DPR represents the display’s pixel scale. DevTools zoom changes how large the emulated page appears on your computer; it does not change the CSS viewport dimensions.

Capture the visible screen or the full page
- With the target viewport selected, open the device toolbar’s More options menu.
- Choose Capture screenshot to save the content visible in the emulated viewport.
- Choose Capture a full size screenshot when you need content beyond the visible viewport as well.
The two commands produce different deliverables: one represents a single screen, while the other captures the full page. Chrome documents these device-mode controls in its mobile device emulation guide. If a label or its placement differs in your Chrome version, check the device toolbar’s More options menu.
Know what DevTools emulation can verify
Device Mode approximates mobile behavior; it does not run the page on an actual iPhone. Chrome describes it this way: “Think of device mode as a first-order approximation of how your page looks and performs on a mobile device.” Use this emulation for a repeatable responsive-layout review or documentation capture. Validate on a physical iPhone when the result depends on iOS, Safari, real hardware, or behavior the emulator cannot reproduce.

- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
Apple’s technical specifications list the iPhone 15 display as 2556 × 1179 pixels at 460 ppi; the portrait physical-pixel order is 1179 × 2556. That specification is separate from the 393 × 852 logical layout dimensions. See Apple’s iPhone 15 technical specifications.

- You cannot find iPhone 15 in the device list: choose Responsive and enter 393 × 852, or add the custom preset through DevTools settings under Devices.
- The page layout looks too wide or too narrow: check the width and height fields. The responsive width should be 393 CSS pixels, not 1179 physical pixels; DevTools zoom is not a viewport setting.
- The screenshot only shows the top portion: use Capture a full size screenshot rather than Capture screenshot.
- The page does not behave like it does on an iPhone: DevTools is an approximation, not iOS or Safari. Reproduce the issue on physical hardware when platform-specific behavior matters.
- The menu labels differ: Chrome can change control placement between releases. Look in the device toolbar’s More options menu and consult the current Chrome Device Mode documentation.
