Choose a fixed delay or a page-ready signal
A browser reaching document readiness does not necessarily mean that the particular content you want is visible. JavaScript may still update the page, or a widget or animation may still be changing. URL2PNG documents two ways to defer capture: wait for a set interval or wait for a specific page element. Its Quickstart Guide describes the request options.

Fixed delay: simple, but time-based
Add delay=2 to the request for an illustrative two-second wait. URL2PNG says this delay begins after document readiness and asset loading. It is useful when a consistent settling interval is sufficient and you cannot change the page. Two seconds is an example, not a universal threshold; adjust it to the behavior of the page you capture.
A fixed delay cannot tell whether your specific application content is ready. It also does not guarantee that every asynchronous widget, animation, or lazy-loaded element has finished.

Page-signaled readiness: explicit, but requires a marker
Set say_cheese=true to make URL2PNG wait for an element with the ID url2png-cheese. The page must expose that element when the content you need is ready:
<div id="url2png-cheese"></div>Use this approach when rendering time varies and the page can signal its own ready state. Adding the marker generally requires access to the page or a way to modify its markup. The documented default for say_cheese is false.

Apply the timing option to a signed URL2PNG request
URL2PNG v6 requests use an API key and a token computed from the full query string and secret key. Adding or changing delay or say_cheese changes the query string, so the token must match the updated request. Generate the signature on a trusted server; do not put the secret key in browser-visible code.

delay=2orsay_cheese=truealong with the other request parameters. - Compute the token for the complete query string. Use URL2PNG’s documented signing process and keep the secret key on the server.
- Send the signed request. If you adjust a parameter later, recompute the token to cover the changed query string.
Consult URL2PNG’s Quickstart for the exact v6 request and signature construction. The available documentation cited here does not establish a universal delay duration or guarantee that a capture includes all page activity.

Set capture size and cache behavior separately
Timing and capture scope are independent. Choose the output dimensions and freshness behavior for the use case rather than expecting a larger viewport or a fresh image to make content ready sooner.

For a tall page, use fullpage=true; for a specific screen layout, set viewport. Use thumbnail_max_width if the output needs scaling. If a cached result is acceptable, leave cache behavior as configured; if you need a fresh screenshot, vary unique. None of these options substitutes for a delay or readiness marker.

Troubleshoot captures that still look unfinished
- The screenshot is early despite a delay: the interval may be too short for that page’s behavior. Increase it as needed, remembering that a delay is a time-based heuristic rather than an application-ready check.
- The request waits for a marker that never appears: verify that the target page actually exposes an element whose ID is exactly
