Set the browser window wider than it is tall before navigating to the page and saving the screenshot. In Selenium Python, driver.set_window_size(1365, 768) is one landscape-shaped example; choose dimensions that suit the layout and verify the result in the browser environment where the code will run.
Capture a landscape screenshot with Selenium Python
This runnable example sets the window size before loading the page, saves the current-window capture as a PNG, and always closes the browser:

Use dimensions appropriate to the page layout and your browser or test environment. The browser window size does not guarantee identical rendering everywhere: Selenium’s guide notes that screen resolution can affect rendering. Inspect the result in the actual execution environment rather than assuming a specific window size always produces the same responsive layout. See Selenium’s guide to working with windows and tabs.

Use a window rectangle when you need to inspect or set more geometry
You can instead call driver.set_window_rect(width=1365, height=768). To check the resulting browser window rectangle, use driver.get_window_rect(). Selenium’s documented API describes these as ways to set and get window position and size.
What Selenium captures by default
driver.save_screenshot("page.png") saves a PNG screenshot of the current browser window. Selenium also documents methods that return screenshot data or base64 instead of writing directly to a file. The regular screenshot is not the same as capturing the entire height of a long webpage.

Capture the full document only when that is the requirement
The Firefox Python WebDriver API documents full-document screenshot methods, including get_full_page_screenshot_as_file. That is a Firefox-specific option in the cited API documentation; do not assume the same method is available across browsers. Consult the Selenium Firefox Python API for the Firefox method and its details.

Selenium’s guide also demonstrates printing a page with landscape orientation. That setting concerns PDF printing; it does not rotate or change the orientation of a PNG screenshot. Use window dimensions for a landscape-shaped browser screenshot, and the print workflow when you need a landscape PDF.

Troubleshooting a wrong-sized or missing screenshot
- The page still looks like a mobile layout: Set the window dimensions before navigation, then check the page in the target browser and execution environment. Screen resolution can affect rendering, so the requested size alone is not proof of the effective layout.
- The image is not landscape: Confirm that the first argument to
set_window_sizeis width and the second is height, and that width is greater than height. - The image shows only the visible window: The normal screenshot methods capture the current window. For full-document capture, use a documented browser-specific option such as Firefox’s API method rather than treating window sizing as a full-page setting.
- The file is not written: Check the destination path and filesystem permissions. Selenium’s
get_screenshot_as_filemethod documents aFalsereturn on an I/O error and expects a.pngfilename; see the remote Python WebDriver API. - You need a PDF rather than an image: Use Selenium’s PDF printing workflow and its landscape setting; it is distinct from screenshot capture.

Does setting a landscape window make a long webpage fit in one screenshot?
No. Window orientation and capture extent are separate: the regular screenshot captures the current window, while full-document capture is a distinct, browser-specific capability in the cited documentation.
