If Chrome blocks you from installing Nimbus Screenshot, ask your browser administrator to approve or deploy it; if your organization blocks screenshot capture itself, only an authorized exception or another approved method will work. These are different restrictions, and switching to another extension is not a reliable way around a capture policy.
First identify what Chrome is blocking
“Extensions are blocked” can refer to an installation rule or a screenshot-prevention rule. The fix depends on which one applies.

Extension installation is restricted
Chrome administrators can control which extensions users may install, including blocking Chrome Web Store installs or force-installing specified extensions. If installation is the only restriction, ask your administrator whether Nimbus Screenshot can be approved or deployed for you. See Chrome Enterprise and Education Help: Install apps.

A separate Chrome policy can prevent screenshots made with keyboard shortcuts and apps or extensions that use Chrome’s capture API. Policy scope depends on the managed setup and platform; some relevant configurations document URL-pattern exceptions. That does not establish that every operating-system capture method is blocked in every deployment, but trying another extension is not a reliable or appropriate workaround. How to request access to Nimbus
- Ask which policy applies. Contact your organization’s help desk or browser administrator and ask whether the issue is extension installation, screenshot prevention, or both.
- If installation is restricted, request an approved deployment. Ask whether the administrator can approve or force-install Nimbus for your managed browser.
- If capture is restricted, ask about an authorized exception. If appropriate, specify the website you need to capture and ask whether an exception is permitted for that site and your managed browser or platform.
- Use only an approved route. If your organization does not authorize the capture, follow its data-handling rules and do not try to bypass its controls.
What to expect from Nimbus Screenshot
An indexed Nimbus guide result names “Visible part of page” and “Browser window” capture modes. However, the guide URL returned 404 when opened, and the current Chrome Web Store listing could not be inspected. Those references do not establish the extension’s present-day feature names, availability, full-page or scrolling support, platform support, or pricing. Check a working current Nimbus source before relying on a particular mode.

Troubleshooting
- The Chrome Web Store says installation is blocked: This points to an extension-installation restriction. Ask the administrator whether Nimbus can be approved or deployed.
- Nimbus is installed but capture is denied: Installation approval does not necessarily override screenshot-prevention policy. Ask whether capture is restricted and whether an authorized site-specific exception is available.
- A different extension also cannot capture: The restriction may cover extensions using Chrome’s capture API. Do not treat another extension as a workaround; ask the administrator which approved method is available.
- You do not know whether an exception applies to your device or site: Give the administrator the managed browser/platform and target URL. Policy scope and any URL-pattern exception depend on the organization’s configuration.
