Take a screenshot with Brave
- Open the web page in Brave and bring the content you want to capture into view.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+S to open Brave’s Screenshot tool.
- Follow the controls shown in your installed version to complete the capture.
Brave staff announced the shortcut for Windows and Linux with Brave v1.75.175 on February 6, 2025, and Brave’s Help Center feature inventory lists a Screenshot tool. The sources confirm the shortcut and feature, but do not establish whether the current tool captures a full scrolling page or exactly how it saves or copies the result. Brave’s announcement

Capture only part of the screen with Windows Snipping Tool
If your goal is to capture a specific section rather than use Brave’s browser screenshot, press Windows key+Shift+S. Windows opens the Snipping Tool overlay. Choose a mode, then select the area or window you need.

- Freeform snip: Draw an irregular outline around the content.
- Window snip: Select a window.
- Full-screen snip: Capture the screen.
Microsoft says the snip is copied into Snipping Tool, where you can edit, save, and share it. This is a Windows screen capture workflow, rather than Brave’s browser-provided tool. Microsoft’s Snipping Tool guide applies to Windows 10 and Windows 11.

If the Brave shortcut does not work
- Check that Brave is open and that you are pressing Ctrl+Shift+S together.
- Consult the menu or shortcut settings in your installed Brave version. The rendered Windows shortcut table in Brave’s Help Center does not list a screenshot entry, so the available material does not establish that the screenshot shortcut can be customized.
- Use Windows key+Shift+S as an alternative when you need a screen region, window, or full-screen capture.
An older Brave Community support reply describes opening Developer Tools, pressing Ctrl+Shift+P, and searching for “shot.” That advice dates to August 2021, before Brave announced its built-in screenshot feature; command names and behavior may differ in current versions.
