If a finished YouTube Live event’s replay stops when the playlist ends, open a video in that playlist and turn on the playlist’s Loop or Repeat control. This repeats the playlist; live DVR is a different feature for streams that are still in progress.
Turn on playlist repeat
First make sure the event has ended and you are watching its replay. YouTube says replays appear as videos on the channel after a live stream ends. YouTube’s playlist-loop instructions describe the repeat control for desktop, mobile, TV, and gaming consoles; its exact presentation can vary by device or app version.

On a computer or mobile device
- Open the replay from the playlist, rather than opening the replay on its own.
- Expand the playlist box if it is collapsed.
- Select Loop in the playlist controls. Check that the control indicates repeat is enabled.
On a TV or gaming console
- Open the playlist and start the replay from it.
- Use the remote or controller to open the playback controls.
- Select Repeat until the control indicates that the playlist—not just a single video—is repeating.
YouTube describes the feature this way: “When watching YouTube, you can play a video or playlist on repeat by looping it.”

Playlist repeat, live DVR, and Live Redirect are different

YouTube’s DVR guidance concerns viewing a live stream in progress. Changing DVR will not make a finished replay’s playlist repeat. YouTube notes that DVR can be limited or unavailable on very long streams, with lower limits on Apple TV, Apple AirPlay, and older app versions. Turning DVR off prevents viewers from seeking back during the live stream, but they can still watch a recording of the full stream when it becomes available.

Live Redirect is a separate creator-side handoff, not a viewer setting for repeating a playlist. YouTube says redirecting creators need more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guideline strikes to use it.
If the replay is missing or incomplete
Playlist repeat can only repeat content that is available. YouTube says it can automatically archive live streams under 12 hours, but streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. For a creator, this is an archive-availability issue, not a playlist-loop setting. YouTube recommends keeping a local archive backup. See YouTube’s live-stream archiving guidance.

If playback still stops
If the replay is part of the playlist and playlist repeat is enabled but playback still stops, YouTube’s published instructions do not establish one universal cause or fix. Avoid assuming that a particular device, account, playlist configuration, or temporary service issue is responsible without more information.

- Reopen the playlist and verify that repeat is enabled for the playlist, not merely for one video.
- Try the same playlist on another device or in another supported app/browser to see whether the behavior is limited to one playback environment.
- If the replay is missing or ends early, check whether the stream was archived and whether a complete local backup exists.
